PLE RTX 3080 Card Choices

So, looking at the front page deal on PLE and the 4500+ orders (I assume) since 11:30pm last night, I want to get a good idea of what cards everyone ordered, just to get a rough indicator of how much stock they're gonna need for each sku. I've got 6 choices, 5 of which are EVGA (they are definitley gonna be the most popular cards) and just a choice for any other 3080 models. Please feel free to leave your order number/time AND/OR card ordered in comments as well.

XC3 Black = Base clock, no backplate.
XC3 = Base clock.
XC3 Ultra = +45Mhz base clock (and tested).
FTW3 = +45Mhz base clock (and tested), Dual Bios, THICC cooler, per-fan temperature sensors, extra 8-pin power port to allow additional power demand.
FTW3 Ultra = +90Mhz base clock (and tested), Dual Bios, THICC cooler, per-fan temperature sensors, extra 8-pin power port to allow additional power demand.

    Is evga a good brand compare to the msi asus? I wonder why its is cheaper to those brand

        You couldn't be any more wrong. The brand matters heaps, especially the work they put into their cooling solutions and fans.

      I've used many of them before, it's a good brand.

      Doesn't seem to be as popular in Australia than in US.

      I think similar story to PNY, etc.

      I would say this gen MSI cards are bad considering their price. Ventus has a very low TDP limit, 320W sharp, cannot pull any more, causing a lower clock speed in real life. Gaming X Trio has 340W limit, still low considering FE version can do 370W. Also, the real-life clock speed is lower than the cheaper Asus TUF, and Gaming X trio 3080 has a PLASTIC backplate. TBH, terrible value for this gen MSI cards. As a 980Ti MSI owner I'm very disappointed. EVGA FTW3 Ultra has 375W default in a youtube comparison review and can be unlocked another 5% to around 395W TDP, which means much better headroom for clock speed.

        Apparently the backplate is Graphene. If so it should have excellent thermal conductivity, without the added weight of metal.

        TDP limit is annoying but MSI have always been known to do so. They did the same with 2xxx series cards.

          There is only a thin layer of Graphene. They still use a metal backplate on 3090 modes, which indicates they know metallic is better. 3080 MSI cards' design just fail. Even pull the fan speed to the same level of TUF, which results in similar RPM anyways, Gaming X Trio is 5 degrees warmer. Default fan profile is 10+ degree hotter than TUF, 30mhz lower real clock speed than TUF at the same time, which is a cheaper model. Pay more for less performance, that is the MSI card.

      Avoid centrifugal fan. Get one with 3 fans and 3-yr warranty. They are basically the same in terms of performance

      It’ll be difficult to say as it all depends on how readily PLE can obtain stock.

      Your number is ~1200 after mine (ETA early Oct) but ahead of many others. Once some of the earlier ETA’s are delivered we’ll have a better idea of how quickly they can deliver their pre-orders.

    Hoping to trade someone with a smaller card for my particular ITX case. Founders would be perfect… Considering ordering a 3070.

    Mine glitched and I ordered twice at 12:26am (2nd was cancelled), and in the same split second it had jumped 300 order numbers fyi.

      the only other card option you really have around the founders size is the base evga model. I was going to buy the ventus model but i saw it was more expensive than the ftw ultra so i jumped ship.

      Damn I hope there won't be a similar issue with the FTW3 model.
      Don't the XC3 and FTW use different fans?

        Hope they can fix it without having to swap cards, or else its the GTX970 ACX2 (they also screwed up their 1070 & 1080 cards) fisco all over again.

        I RMA'd 2 970's with coil whine issues, and sold the 3rd card new/sealed when I received it back, as I couldn't be bothered with the model.

        It'd be good if anyone that managed to get their hands on one to test & let us know.

    What's everyones order status when they log into the PLE page?

    my CC has been charged and I've gotten the unsuccessful email without an ETA, but my order status on the PLE order page is still on awaiting processing.

      Yep same mines also on "Awaiting Processing" and I have also been charged the full amount right after I put in the order.

      PLE charge the full amount regardless of whether they had stock to sell or not.

      They will allow you to cancel your order, and receive a refund asap afterwards.

      Anyone with an October eta able to shed some light on what their order status is?

      I've actually got a Qantas ff spend to meet so I'm hoping it's an actual charge to my cc and not a pre-authorization as the transaction is still showing as pending.
