  • What's the relevance of the cost of the sugar portion of the chocolate? Bit confused…

    • More sugar, less cocoa.

      • Right… but what's the relationship between the cost/kg and the sugar content?

        • Cost per kilo net of sugar. Strictly speaking, sugar is not chocolate. More sugar, cheaper the total price.

          • @wisdomtooth: Yes, I get that the Lindt dark chocolates have low sugar content. But what is the relevancy of the $/kg of the sugar?

            • @AussieZed: The relevant part, for OzBargainers at least, is the unit price. Some chocolate bars are 180g (e.g. Cadbury's), some are 80g (e.g. Pico); some are mostly sugar (e.g. "milk" and white "chocolates"), some are mostly all chocolate (e.g. Lindt 95%). Sugar is not xocolatl. I'm attributing zero value to the sugar (when in fact I should be attributing negative value).
