was $200 cheaper last month fyi

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/556142

    • true but its still cheaper than other retailers and the website

      • I just have a feeling that it is not really limited quantity

  • I wouldn’t wanna spend over 2k for last gen’s laptop.

  • This or the G14?

    • Depends what your using it for really. I was also considering the g14 or HP omen ryzen. When this deal came out last month i couldn't pass it up. I got the 32gb / 1tb variant of this model for ~$2200, you can't beat it specs wise / cost. Sure its not the latest processor but i didn't personally buy it for gaming, but more for content creation / consumption. The screen is something else, theres no ryzen system with a screen anywhere near as good as this.

  • 11th Gen Tiger Lakes CPU is just released recently.

    • I've been debating whether to wait (could be 3-4 months before new Tiger Lake XPS is ready). Tiger Lake's biggest improvement is IGPU and since this has dedicated GPU maybe it makes less of a difference

      • Dedicated GPU CHEWS battery and only gets activated when using applications dedicated to 3D work/gaming.

This does have heating issues and noticing throttle still persistent

  • You'd be mad to not go for the current generation. Still way too expensive, but the 7590 just isn't that great.

    • Literally taking what you said, comparing this deal to the new XPS with 10750h.. You would be mad to pay an extra $1300 for the version with the new processor.. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Dell-XPS-15-9500-Laptop-10th… Some slight variations inbetween models but its the closest on ebay and personally they don't justify the added cost either.

I would take the savings on this over paying the extra for a 3%-10% increase in performance….. https://www.notebookcheck.net/i7-9750H-vs-i7-10750H_11352_11…

@garvani: Lol. Thank you. Finally feedback from someone who actually owns the device.

        • the i9 model throttles. The i7 doesn't have that problem.

      latest version has no OLED

  • I brought this on the last deal (except i got the 32gb / 1tb variant for roughly this price). No issues to report. You don't buy this for gaming. You buy this for content creation or the likes and for that purpose it fly's (it may throttle but i havn't noticed it). It compares favorably to my amd 2700x in adobe premiere use/exporting.
That screen though. Like they say with TV's, once you go OLED you can't go back, well try that with your laptop.

    • How is the video editing capability? 4K content to be exact.

      • Thats all I edit with Warp stabilisation, titles etc. I don't do overally complicated edits but it flys through it. As noted it performs vary similar to my 2700x

@williamk30 heres a brief demonstration that i chucked together to disprove another post here. https://vimeo.com/457618744
There's 40 odd clips into a 3:30 project, probably 15 warp stabilization's of varying lengths, few other transitions.

    • Where was the deal? On OzB?

      • Yes it was on OzB, it was just a link on the last deal that was posted above, someone commented you could get better specs for $200, no brainer

Nice specs, however no delivery until mid next month? Expecting a few more upcoming deals in that time; wouldn't want to end up with buyers remorse!

    • Do not take that delivery tine frame. Mine was the same over a month away, I had it in less than a week

I bought this last time and returned it.

The HDR mode is supported for streaming only. It's not available for apps and games. So it didn't fit my needs. What a waste. The screen was otherwise fantastic.
