Your going to make me fat …

Have you bought this too? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/562031

      • JTFC ! Thank goodness I'm not in Melbourne !

      • Luckily my freezer won't fit. Are the chest freezers back in stock yet?

        • +1

Those chest freezers are PITA to use. You have to bend down to find things and it’s a nightmare when you want to get something at the bottom of the heap when the freezer is full. I regret getting one before the lockdown and if I had my time again, I would’ve gone for an upright freezer instead.

you're going to make me obese

  • Have some self control people, ice cream now and then won't necessarily make you fat 😂

  • Bulla was half price in 2L tubs recently - love it. Not because of the price, it is just a great taste. Plus, a good price as well.

  • +3

Even at half price. These are do damn expensive.
But no other ice cream comes close with flavour and texture.

    • I find the texture harsh and icy tbh, doesn't compare to harry's or connoisseur

      • +4

It's definetly higher grade and creamier than connesseur.

More air in connesseur, but it's still ok.

      • +3

i think texture of ice cream is impacted by your freezer. I just bought a new fridge as the old one carked it and ice cream tastes less icy.

        • you are on to something. that's generally it's due to the 'no-frost' freezers most of the time.

        • You might be right. My mum stuffed the fridge and blocked the top vent so the freezer was working overtime to cool the freezer. No surprise the icecream was near the vent and was frozen stiff.

But perhaps it's the flavour I got. The strawberry has freeze dried strawberries in it which doesn't help with the icy perception.

I am comparing like for like though (strawberry vs strawberry), I definitely think the caramosa connoisseur is better than the haagen dasz strawberry.

Fresh haagen dasz from the shop is immensely good though

      • No way. This is on a different level.

      • Id have to disagree too. Let it sit for a couple of mins before digging into it.

If you treat the ice cream as a nice reward for yourself, a small tub lasts a while.

The thing I love about it is that on some flavours there's only 5 simple ingredients. Not full of gums, thickeners and other chemicals.

For me personally, it's my favourite supermarket ice cream, though I do like connoisseur as well.

  • Thanks OP! Love the chocolate

    • The chocolate frappe is too sweet for me but I think I saw they have Belgium chocolate flavour at Coles which I would like to try.

  • I feel relieved that this isn’t chocolate flavour…. so I just needed to get 20 tubs

  • strawberry is my favourite. thanks op

  • I wish they had more variety in flavours like they do overseas…

  • For those after Chocolate Frappe or Brownie Mochiatto, my local NQR have them for $3.75 with an expiry date of early 2021. Might be worth a check before you get this deal, unless you need other flavours other than the above.

  • This stuff is delicious. The Europeans really do make the best ice-cream.
