[Pre Order] Honeycomb Alpha Flight Controls Yoke $399.46 Delivered @ The Gamesmen eBay

230
PTOPT15

The current online favourite mid-range yoke. Great for those people getting into or getting back into flight simulation.

Obviously a niche product, but I'm flagging this as a separate deal as it normally retails in Australia for $450-$470, and hasn't been below $400 since this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/533084.

Can be picked up slightly cheaper internationally, but I've personally been waiting for a local deal for warranty purposes. Greater than 10 available for pre-order at the time of posting, with an estimated in store date of 18/09/2020.

  • I bought Logitech one yesterday!! Damn it

Ordered! Thanks so much, OP. Been waiting for another deal for this yoke for ages, and if that ETA is accurate then it’s not too long to wait. Now to grab the throttle quadrant once that’s readily available…

    • +1

Agreed. I was hoping they would put the throttle quadrant up for preorder on eBay too. Not yet unfortunately.

      • Yep, same here. Was going to hold out for Xmas but as soon as I saw this below $400 it triggered my immediate buy clause. Honeycomb Bravo….come to me….eventually. Pretty sure my wife is going to divorce me, but at least now I'll be able to get rid of my Logi/Saitek Yoke which has served me well but never quite been great.

  • Must… resist…

  • Hi, if this is mid-range, what would be an example of a high-end flight yoke?

    • +2

There are a few brands, but the one that I think gets mentioned and used in comparisons most often is the Yoko Yoke Plus. 995.00 €.

    • You think this is bad, you should see high end racing wheels. This is entry level pricing.

      • Both racing and flying setups can get quite expensive. As Omuse says if you go the next level up to Yoko you're looking at >$1K for the yoke alone not factoring in throttles, pedals, etc. Once you go a bit mental with the flight sim stuff you're looking at stupid high pricing though, $10K-$30K depending on how far you want to go. I think beyond that its definitely 100% commercial simulator kit.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 plays very well with a controller, at least the smaller planes do anyway - I used to have a full HOTAS and Track IR setup, the controller is nearly as good.

    • +1

I've had to give you a neg as I use a controller and I've used a friend's yoke and it's a different level. Controller is usable but not on the same level as yoke, hotas or even a joystick.

I guess I'll do the same? I've not used a Yoke before, but lots of Joysticks and HOTAS setups. I rate the flying with a controller an easy 8/10 on light aircraft. I don't know if this will help you, but it went from unusable to usable with a few changes to the settings (decreased sensitivity by 10-15%, and I had to add a dead spot as my controller is old).

Perfect timing. Just preordered the bravo directly from honeycomb for week 3 production.

  • I guess I'll be one of those people getting back into simming having not flown for a while.

    Oh OzBargain.
Despite accumilating 3 or 4 sets of Saitek/Cessna/Logitech Yoke and rudder combo and having the rest of the kit…
This looks the goods to simply my setup. Look out fleebay.

  • Great yoke! I paid pretty much full price a month ago. Very happy with it. Integrates perfectly with Flight Sim right out of the box.

  • Delayed to 23rd Sept.

  • My order shipped today.
