House Store Prices and Steep Discounts

I have noticed that House (and their sister stores like Robins Kitchen) has some quality products, specially the crockery, knives and silverware. But their prices can be a bit on the high end.

I tend to notice that they offer discounts like 50, 60 even 70% at times. So are they over charging, or really offering "great" discounts?

Example, this cooking set is at the moment $399.99 down from $1199.99

  • This knife set is even "better" deal, down to $299 from $1199.

  • Wouldn't you just compare with the same product at different sellers; that will dictate if these are bargains or not.

    • Baccarat is available exclusively at 150 House and Robins Kitchen stores nationally

Same company for both brands.. they control the pricing.

Looks like plenty of sellers have been offering discounts like these on these products for an extended period of time. Take from that what you will.

House is constantly on sale, nothing special here, Baccarat is a very average brand and hardly worth the money. Spend a bit extra and go global for knives.

But yeah, inflated RRP's are getting a bit ridiculous.

    • House is constantly on sale

Their stores are annoying in that way, always some supposed clearance

  • Is this the store that has 'closing down sale', 'everything must go, 60% off' for the past 3 years?

    • To be fair they're going to close down eventually.
