    This is everyday price

    • But not available everyday as I said in the description.

      • It's been available at my local Bunnings for quite a while. It's also the standard price. They don't sell well because it's not a strong torch. I bought the flood light on clearance which came as a kit for 50 (with charger and battery).

        • Is this flood light deal still going? Had a quick search for it on bunnings and I could not see it.

Having both this and the floodlight - floodlight is a much better investment, even at $40 RRP.

It is a very ordinary light, like a cheap one that runs off a single 18650 cell.

I'd have thought the only reason for using a powertool battery on a torch is you can draw 20W or 100W easily.
3W is a bit pointless, unless you intend to mod it. It is like putting a 2-stroke motor on a toothbrush.

Yeah these low level lights off power tool batteries are pointless imo, esp for $20.
Even the various cree clone torches can do the job for a fraction of size and price. Isn't 3W not much higher than a good headlamp anyway?

One advantage is the massive run time off a battery pack if you have a use for it.

  • can you link to the item?

  • 250 lumens isn't that bright.

Especially not considering how beefy the batteries are.

My little chap for trail running is up to 900 lumen and its <100g.

I have one of these from the 5 piece kit and find it super handy. The battery acts as a stand, it doesn’t get hot and the spread is pretty good. FWIW, I also have 2 1000 lumens cree torches (Convoy S2 and BLF A6) and a Nitecore 1000 lumens headlamp, and always grab the Ozito first.

That said, I don’t know if I’d buy it if I didn’t have it. I am going to buy the floodlight one day though.

Any thoughts or comparisons between this and the worklight?

    • it kinda depends on your use case

i reckon the OP suites me more but for people doing extended work the 2nd might suit

I use it in my workshop all the time and think it is great. Yes I have triple 18650 battery long throw torches but that is not suitable for closeup work. The ozito is very wide beam without any hotspot so it is great for closeup work such as working under the bonnet of a car. It sits well on its own and is reasonable adjustable and lasts for ages on one charge. Many use cases are not all about brightness.

    • Exactly.
