Hi fellow OzBargainers,
Looking for a recommendation for a new washing machine, as my current Samsung washing machine drum bearings have failed. Not keen to get another Samsung.
I also have some JB Hi-Fi vouchers to use, so keen to shop there.
I've shortlisted the following:
Hisense HWFL1014V 10kg Front Load Washing Machine - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hisense-hwfl1014v-10kg-fr…
$799 - 3 Year Warranty
Hisense HWFE1014VA 10kg Front Load Washing Machine (White) - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/hisense-hwfe1014va-10kg-f…
$999 - 3 Year Warranty
Bosch WAW28460AU 8kg ActiveWater Front Load Washing Machine - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/bosch-waw28460au-8kg-acti…
$1249 - 2 Year Warranty
The Bosch seems to have hundreds of positive reviews, where as the Hisense machines have little or none (might be fairly new models). What reviews there are seem positive on both.
The Bosch has a 2 year warranty and the Hisense have 3 years.
The Bosch is a 8kg and the Hisense are both 10kg (not important to me) - have the room for both.
The Hisense seems to have more features (like touch screen and auto dosing on the more expensive model).
Any advice on which machine would be the better choice?
Which company is better from a support perspective?
Should I be looking at any other machines?
Cheers!
I recently went through this exercise, and ended up getting a Fisher & Paykel 12kg. The main thing I was looking at was the various cycles that they can do and what the "weight" the cycle is capable of as well as how long it takes. Most washing machines can only do the maximum rated weight capacity on their longest cycle (cotton cycle). When you do the 15 / 30 / 60 minute cycle, usually you can only do a lot less weight. F&P can do the same 12kg on their "Everyday" cycle which takes around an hour (compared to the Cotton cycle - 2hrs+). I also like the simple options (extra rinse cycle, pre-wash) being quickly selectable without going through a deep menu hierarchy, because those are the things that I vary all the time depending on the type of load I'm doing.
