Just browsing for a new charger for my Macbook Pro since mine was broken recently and saw this on Aliexpress. Seems like a decent charger for the price.

Does it even come with an AU plug though?

    • I don't think it does, which is a bummer :(

Yeah not really worth it then for me, means you gotta carry around an adapter.

      • This is why I prefer chargers to come with the Mickey Mouse plug. Also it lets you have some distance away from the wall.

    • Looks like only EU and US Plug available, so a Travel Adapter will be required.

US cable with AU adaptor is about the same footprint as the official eu one.
Unfortunately I was stupid and purchased the 120w EU thinking the EU was just an adaptor sitting on folding US plugs🤦‍♂️

  • Can't find any GaN charger with AU plug

  • It’s possible to rotate the pins to fit an Aussie socket, I've done it with a few Apple adapters.

Rotate as in bend? That’s pretty sketchy and it’d be silly to buy something with that intent.

I’ve done it before and generally works, but I’ve also broken plastic. Depends on design and quality of the plastic I guess.

      • Yeh you have to be careful. I’ll be doing it on one of those 120W GaN Baseus units, way too bulky with an adapter.

You can take a crappy stainless butter knife, cut a slot close to the handle butt at the top where the blade has some extra material and use this to leverage the bottom of the pin while twisting it carefully with a very firm plier grip.

Sometimes (like with Apple adapters) the pins will still fold away.

        • You never really get it to fully insert in the socket though and end up with partially exposed uninsulated pins. Something I didn’t worry about until little kids came into the picture.

          • @watts: Ok kids do change the equation but a little shrink tube can help and it’s possible to get it near perfect. It just takes a lot of care.

different price point, but does look like a good value for money, est delivery Jan,21

    • Hmmm, this reads really well! Might we worth keeping an eye on.
Surely there will be more to come to market soon?

    • It looks cool, the 100W one would be enough for me.
