SA Users Shouldn't Be Forced to Have a Mask on Our Profile Pics

The people in SA were sensible, and kept covid under control, so it's hardly a problem here anymore, and most don't need to wear masks. What better way to show-off to the Victorians, than to have all of our profile pics mask-free!
Or maybe just force the Victorians to have masks on their profile pics.
We've gotta rub it in somehow, lol. Covid practically doesn't exist in SA, and most things are normal.
Please reward us, by allowing us to have no masks on our profile!

Alternatively, implement a system that, whenever any given state is covid-free, automatically remove the masks from their profiles, as a sign of victory!

You can easily reset it to the default (no mask) - follow these steps that were provided by Neil.

    • For South Australians:

      maskPA

      • ahaha, but then they will upset the Crows fans. im not into football myself, but thats a creative solution

        • OK, here ya go:

          maskotr

        • I'm not sure 1 win is enough for people to admit to being crows fans again,

      • Oh pulease, I'd rather wear my own sons used diaper on my face.

Or stop being self obsessed and know there's a problem bigger than you?

There's no shame in wearing masks.

There is a bitter rivalry between SA and VIC. I'm just playing my part.

      • Ahh, aren't you on our (WA) side? The default avatar does not define us.

      • +6

That's what people from SA say to feel important. Trust me, we don't think about you at all.

        • +1

Yeah, all those people in SA, swanning around with no restrictions and no mandatory masks, must be really terrible to be them.

Pretty shit time to bring up a rivalry. I hope you don't have any Vic friends that you gloat over. It's pretty frustrating to see other states being allowed to freely move about, see family and enjoy simple pleasures in life.

The fact is alot of Victorians are struggling. I'm sure there are a lot of small business owners/ employees are struggling with the fact that they had to shut down and are struggling to pay bills. Being forced to stay home isn't a great feeling. School students have had to remote learn for a large part of a year. Plus a few weeks ago there was a definite fear that even if we were young and healthy could catch COVID, our older loved ones could be in strife. If some campaigner is gloating about how well they've done mostly due to sheer luck I would tell them to f off. Shows you are a pretty insensitive person.

Covid practically doesn't exist in SA

Practically doesn't exist in regional VIC either. Have a look at a map that shows cases per postcode, most areas have either had no cases ever or none since April.

No one wants to be in SA, not even covid… 😂

    • +3

I'll accept the burn but in truth there was a rush for the SA border around lockdown-o-clock

Use the no mask avatar then.

  • Many regions of Australia were in self-isolation even before COVID.

If television, fast food drive-thrus, or SUVs become a vector of transmission then regional Australia is in trouble.

  • Just get a custom avatar.

First off, put the bong down

It's difficult to find when there's no power to put the light on.

      • I laughed at this, even though it's entirely untrue. I haven't lost power in years.

The water is so bad in Adelaide that even COVID is steering clear

  • I suppose this me/you attitude is ok, as long as:
    - you are ok with the 1 person per 2 sq.m. for public activities
    - you are ok with having to give your details for businesses / public activities
    - you are ok with no buffets, salad bars, hookahs,
    - you don't want to travel overseas

It's hard to catch COVID when you're in a barrel.

  • What about NSW? Had someone from Vic come over and asked "why isn't everyone wearing masks"?

  • Were we sensible…no. Were we lucky (note past tense) yes. But now it's our time. NSW will probably get a Xmas lock down…brutal.

    • This mess all started from those international arrivals being kept in hotels, and obviously it wasn't handled properly. Such a shame one worker or company (profanity) it all up for us.

    This didn't age well.

    • You're right. Now it should just be the SA users who default to mask profile pics.
