Very low lumen count for a 12w downlight. Is that correct? only 650?

    • Wanted to know as well. I'd also like to know what lumen it is when at 6000k?

    • Even for a colour light, that is low lumens/watt. Ikea ones say 8.6W for 600 lumen. Hue is 10W for 550-806 lumen.

But you missed the big news: A Chinese company giving honest lumen specs. Unheard of!

So what are these colour lights used for? Home disco?

  • I've only ever used wifi light bulbs/plug but begging to think I need to move to Zigbee. What sort of Zigbee hub would OzBargainers recommend? and is there a device which can convert normal downlights to Zigbee?

    • I'm also interested if there is any options to convert normal downlights to wifi or zigbee for a reasonable price

      • Check out my comments below…

      • Define reasonable. If you want to go down this road I'd recommend aeotec switched wired in behind the switch plate by an electrician and a hub like Homey or Fibaro home centre. One switch ($100) will control all lights on the circuit and give you dimming too.

I've looked into it a lot but haven't wanted to part with the money as wanted to do sensors and everything.

    • @pepper84 This is a good questions and many Ozbs would love to know , good for a Forum

    • so I'm looking for some smart relays/controllers to convert a bunch of lights into smart lights for home.
I purchased ~8 of these aqara smart relays, wired them in with my electrician and 2 went pop and busted the relay. so I have a few left for sale if you want to try them…. going cheap!!
they connected to my smartthings hub but i was only able to control a single output, not both.

I'm going to try and get a few of these single relays next and see if they work any better… fingers crossed

The Hub of choice is a samsung smartthings hub, which you can get on special for about $80 new from JBHIFI. I wanted to avoid a bunch of wifi ones on my network so zigbee was the next best thing, however z-wave is also good.

    • Yes,
      I've recently discovered 2 options.

      First one

      https://www.lectory.com.au/p/ctec-smart-light-switch-dimmer-…

    • The downlight shown here can also be controlled using a Phillips hue bridge.
If you call the guys at lectory they are happy to give you all the information you need

  • Ordered a few weeks ago, it took about 3-4 weeks to arrive then came with the wrong variant(came without the plug). I've contacted support and am waiting to hear back. Hoping to change all my lights if they work and fit.

My cutouts are 80mm, I don't think there are any better sizes to suit, any suggestions?

  • I have one of these. Good light. Super easy setup with Home Assistant. Only issue is reset switch is in ceiling, so will be a mission if I ever need to use it.

  • I have 2 of these downlights working (sometimes) with Philips hue. They are not always responding to the on command from the Hue wall switch - prob. 20% failure to recognise the on command. Then you press again and they work. I've never needed to press on more that twice. Reset from memory is by switching on an off 6 times in a row but you need to have it literally next to the hue hub for it to register. Colours are ok, not hue quality but not hue price.

  • OP Any more deals on downlights?
