$1 Final Value Fee for The Next 5 Items You Sell @ eBay Australia

210

I know this has been posted before recently, but I just got another one in my Seller account today. I've marked the expiry date as 13 September, but it seems it will run for two weeks from when you accept it. YMMV, please report in the comments below if it's a hard date on the 13th.

  • Note — Promotion applies to the first 5 items you list (submit) after accepting offer, not on the first 5 items that you successfully sell.

As usual " Unfortunately, this promotional offer is not available to you."

    😒

  • They just keep popping these up again and again.

    • I'm not complaining. They might be the replacement for the $1 weekends.

  • Important

Pay a maximum of $1 in Final Value Fees for FIVE items you list and make available for purchase in a single category during the Promotion Period (see exclusions below).

Doesnt apply to everything you list/pre-listed - only first five

  • Not applicable to me this time.

Also had the "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is not available to you." message. But then went into the "Sell" section and had the same offer available as a banner. Clicked through and applied.

Might be worth the double check.

    • Yes, you're right. I had to disable uBlock (adblocker) plugin to actually see that promotional banner. It would be invisible otherwise.

It appears in your eBay summary page as well.

    • It's appearing in the phone app now, too, so if it fails in a computer browser try the app instead.

I have had this 3 times in a row now, and always use it to full potential. For over a year I have not been getting the weekend $1 offer and waited patiently. I guess eBay figures out I will never pay full fees, so gave in 😂

    • I'm in the same boat

The Paypal fees they make on these listings probably make it worth while for them

  • I got one but only 2 items.

  • Not eligible for 5, but had a different offer for only 1 item. Better than nothing..

    • Was that for the phone app only? I received an email over the weekend for 1 free listing with $0 FVF for a listing made on the app.

      • No mention of the app, just a generic $0 insertion and final value offer.

  • Thanks just accepted it I wasn't expecting a third round

It's been great because I stopped selling due to ridiculous 10% fees other than the 2 fee-free Gumtrees per month

    eBay sucks

  • Still miss the good old days of no insertion and final value fees for unlimited listings. Probs been a couple years since that.

  • Does anyone else have the issue where you use the 5 listings but it shows you haven't used any?
    Still shows 0/5 listings used…..
Then when the items sold they charge you full price and you get put through the roundabout chasing up the reimbursement.

    • That used to happen to me regularly, but it hasn’t occurred for some time. I learned to take screenshots showing the deal acceptance date, then the Seller Active and Sold summary pages showing start and end dates as proof. Having said all that, sometimes the discounts don’t appear until your invoice is generated, so I wait for that first, now, and only query if something is missing.

  • Sorry for the basic question but I have not sold anything on eBay for ages. If I go to selling in the app I can see 'Sell 10 items for free' 10 Items remaining. However there is no click-through or anything like that. If I list an item and it sells, will it just come off that 10 remaining?

Yes, that's usually how it works. Is there a link to more details or T&Cs? If so, go through that and read what it includes. Note, though, as I said above you'll often see charges appearing on your account at first but when the monthly invoice is generated they'll be discounted. However, it's always a good idea to screenshot the offer so you have proof it was there when you first listed, and if eBay doesn't give you the discount you can use the online chat with their support team to get it sorted. Tell them you have the screenshot and then send it through to them, they'll normally fix it straight away.
