      How to Pronounce Nguyen

Seriously though, this is probably the most correct way for a non-Viet speaker to pronounce it.

Every group of letters (i.e. "word") in Vietnamese is pronounced with a single syllable. The longest group of words in Vietnamese is a mere 7 letters, but words can consist of more than one syllable.

  • we all know the free version contains the shittest recipes

lol vietnamese food and cuisine in the same sentence

What? Street food is as much cuisine as the food at a three Michelin-starred restaurant is cuisine. "Cuisine" is the characteristic style of food associated with a particular culture — it doesn't imply anything more than that. Calling something "cuisine" does not mean the food has to be high-brow.

In any case, Vietnamese cuisine does not consist solely of street food; far from it. Wikipedia on Vietnamese cuisine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuisine_of_Vietnam

      • I think he is confusing 'cuisine' with 'gourmet'. Having said that, you can have gourmet Vietnamese food too.

        • i put roasted eggplant and sundried tomato in my rice paper roll, yumz

  • So it is some recipes selected from his book and it is still normally 8.99?

    • It is still free for the moment, I've just downloaded it.

  • It's my beloved hometown. But the tastes of (the) cuisines there are much different to the ones here so Luke Nguyen's attempts may not be quite successful.
