Asus TUF 3 Radeon RX 5600 XT EVO Gaming 6GB Graphics Card $399 + Delivery @ Umart

850

A little side dish to go with the recent banquet of DDR4 RAM and SSD's. Spotted what seems to be a cheap deal on this card. Have been other brand RX 5600 XT cards as cheap as $389 in past it seems. Usual comments on price drops once new cards launch below.

This is a 'hot deal' so expires in 2 days - assuming that means midnight Sunday. Can collect in store for free if you're nearby.

Comparable to rtx 2060 performance but $100 cheaper

    • Also less power consumption

      • +1

I need to buy a card ASAP, but seeking RTX 2060S as NVENC and Tensor cores (learning Python coding). Think this might be a good resaleable item to swap for a RTX3xxx next year?

      DLSS?

  • How much postage to Melb metro

    • -4

Looks like $12… but if I remember from another post you might have to add $1600+ for 'non-essential' delivery fines. Tough times there! I hope you and the other forum Melbournians are staying safe and well. Keep up the COVID fight! You're winning

Edited to 'Melbournians' due to downvotes. Apologies if any offence

how much would I lose in resale value when comparing between this and Gigabyte 2060 Windforce OC $495?

    • +2

This one would be better as this is a better value and lower price generally lose value less logically.

      • what's would be the monetary values you reckon, I'm probably going to sell it in 4-6 months, would the net loss in resale be $50+ with the 2060 in comparison with the 5600XT

like say, you sell 5600xt for $300 -> $100 loss
        sell 2060 for $345 -> $155 loss

        difference is $55 loss

        • +4

Depends if the new generation prices are higher or lower. I think it's more likely that he the RDNA2 cards will have a similar price to RDNA1. So the 5600xt would lose more value. RDNA2 will have ray tracing as well and support DX12 ultimate.

        • If you're looking at resale values, this wouldn't be the best time to buy. With new Nvidia cards launching this coming week you can't be very sure since performance & price differential may play a part in how much card prices drop. Either way though, i'd agree with the previous reply that cheaper cards do tend to drop more slowly

          • @bpop99: it's just getting announced next week, who knows when you can actually get them at MSRP in this climate, and I purchased my 2060 from Amazon so if it happens this soon, I'll just sent it back

But not everyone wants to pay for caviar

      • Unless a miracle happened

  • Does anyone know if this card could handle three 4K monitors at 60hz? Just work, non-gaming refresh rates

    • +2

      Gaming no. Working yes.

      • Cool thanks!

  • With that price I thought it was the non-revised version!

  • +1

Upvote for wording it like John Wicks wine guy.

    Nice card price as well

  • +2

hmm..i bought 5600xt sapphire pulse from scorptec two months ago, for $549, which seems bit too much now. I'd go for 5700xt if your goal is 1440p gaming if you allow extra $100

    • Haha same. I’m punching myself for getting the 5600XT Mech OC for $500.

      • Lol, that was my first choice. Then I watched hardware inbox saying sapphire is quieter

        • +1

Well it's the only choice for my SFF build that is priced reasonably at the time :( but it turns out not as bad as I expected, temps are around 55-60C with fans never spin over 60%

          • @hanke: How on earth is 60% tolerable to you? For me at 50% it starts whining and it's SOOOO annoying.

            • @Void: Yea I was wrong. What I meant was I set the fan curve to never go above 60%, but in reality the GPU barely reaches 60C and fans stay around 45%. Headphones also help a lot as well.

  • Does anyone know how stable this card is with overclocking? im tossing between this and the 5700 xt and ive heard this one is basically a locked version of the 5700 xt?

    • 5% increase? It's locked, more videos on youtube you can get details

    • I just tried OCing last night and while it’s stable, the maximum clock and memory speed have been locked so you don’t gain that much performance. A little bit of undervolting does help with the temps, though.

  • Is it better than this? ozbargain.com.au/node/558617 Quite a few comments went on and on about how crap a version that one was. This is better?
Also is this better than https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/galax-geforce-gtx-166… ?

    • +1

This has a revised cooler design so it won't be loud or hot, it's a lot better than the 1660 Super.

      • Great. Can i go mental on RDR2 and not have DOOM 2016 (profanity) lag on me anymore? I just wanna play DOOM peacefully and new destroy all humans, mafia remasters etc.

    • Not much experience here, but I know that 5600 XT's are better than 1660 supers, generally speaking.
The comments about the Asrock 5600 XT mainly pertain that specific model, but this model is recommended by Hardware unboxed after the Sapphire Pulse model in the following videos

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCi9c8KqpNk
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJAM0zeWEU0&t=50s

I might end up buying this because it's $50 cheaper than what i bought a Gigabyte gaming OC model for and because of driver issues with that one I might be able to get a full refund anyways.

    • I actually got the one from that deal (558617) and just added my experience to that old thread - as there appeared to be one negative adding a few comments which might skew peoples perception, just to balance it out.

I haven't had any issues and the card runs quite quiet for what it is (I have a water cooled CPU which is almost dead silent, so I am quite picky). Certainly so much quieter than my 390x; I havent really noticed it to be honest but maybe I am conditioned from my other PC.

Overall I think it was a great deal. This one probably likewise (haven't researched the Asus, but I am certain you will find more reviews as I couldn't find any for the AsRock which was slightly nerve wracking - but glad I grabbed it anyway).

      • May I ask what gaming do you do? Like 1080p or 1440p? And you're happy with its performance?

        • +1

Only 1080p which this card just blitzes through anything so far. Unfortunately I havent tried 1440p yet….

          • @XPunK: Yeah with my current build I have a gigabyte gaming oc and decided to try out a 1440p monitor, but I'm actually really impressed with its performance.

I even got a 144hz monitor and like I don't play current AAA titles but Valorant looks awesome and even GTAV gets above 120hz on average which I thought was cool.

      • I mean… you're comparing it with a 390X lol. I'd still spend the extra $10 for the better cooler, even if the Phantom isn't horrible.

        • I would tend to agree regarding getting this one for $10 more - but sometimes you got to roll with the times. This deal was not available back then, and ironically the other deal is no longer available. So it doesnt really matter :) if you are gaming at lower res either are good cards.

  • +1

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YNymFG Okay how does this look for 1080p? Will it make (profanity) everywhere wet?

    • For 1080p it's high tier.
A 3600 paired with a 5600 xt easily gets above 100fps for most if not all games.

      • Great to hear. So i can play doom 2016 without lag now? And gta5 and black flag and "name other game that i lag on"

        • That's the dream.
I even upgraded to a 1440p monitor and gta v is apparently able to average 140 fps with high settings according to the radeon adrenaline software, so that's kind of insane.

    • +1

Yeah the sapphire pulse is regarded as the best 5600 xt choice.

      • +1

thank you. Ordered it from amazon US.

  • -2

Price is ok , though some games will penalize you for only having 6g. 8GB is really the minimum these days.

    • +1

That's only if you're trying to get ultra textures, which are unnecessary at the 1080p this card is targetting.

      • -1

So only if you want it good then.

        • +1

I've played various games with Ultra and High texture settings and there's no perceivable difference.

          • @Void: Perception is not the same for everyone. Was a time in the dark dim past when there was the same argument about 4K and 1080p , many argued there was no perceivable difference, well we know how silly that sounds.

  • make sure its the updated version - the launch version was pushing 99deg C. Every reviewer said to avoid that one at all costs

  • I shouldve believed google, oh how i shouldve believed google. What a waste of a day getting the (profanity) thing working and its still not working. my old gpu works perfectly. I have done every single way i could find on google but nothing, nada, not one thing makes this card work. I shouldve got the GTX 1660 Super EX like everyone suggested. oh why didnt i listen? what a (profanity) wasted (profanity) of a day, i mean i listened to some podcasts which kept me sane but (profanity) my (profanity) what a piece of shit card.
