Waiting on the P12s, just restocked in America supposedly
I was waiting on them too and just decided to buy F12 PWM PST fans. Only mean to use them as a placeholder until Noctua release the NF-A12x25 Chromax fans next year.
I am also after the p12s, I did look on Arctics website and enquired for 5 white fans in a pack, however, the price for a value pack of 5 P12 PWM PST fans is 33 Euros so with 10% GST approximately ~$59-60 shipped. Hopefully, they can do all white packs too.
The P12s are taking ages to restock. I just pulled the trigger on a 5-pack from a third party. Still saves me money vs buying Noctua NF-A12x25s
Any chance I could ask where else is a good place to buy the P12 PWM PST's from? I also wanted to buy a 5 pack a while ago, but there is still no stock.
@Ice009: I got too tired of waiting so I ordered a 5-pack through eBay. It ships all the way from UK and I've yet to receive them. Probably this week.

Hi Monchee, thanks for the reply. Could you possibly send me a PM (start a conversation) with a link to where you bought them from, please? How long has it taken since you ordered them? Last time I ordered something from the UK a few months ago, it took 6 or 7 weeks to get here.
Have you got the link to the P12?
@ganymede: Unfortunately the shop that I bought from ebay 'thepomshop' doesn't sell the item anymore. But I got the fans last week and they're great. A bit expensive compared to retail, but it's still just about 1.5x the price of a single NF-A12x25.
The P12 non pwm versions have been in and out of stock for $9.00 each which is pretty good value. Just make sure your motherboard has fan header voltage control.
Ya, doesn't work for me unfortunately. I need PWM as my motherboard has thirteen PWM fan headers
@Satirical: Out of curiosity, which motherboard is that?
@Trance N Dance: Asus Crosshair VI Extreme
@Satirical: my asus b350 board does both except for the cpu fan header which only does pwm.
@thorman: Ah, that's true. I see DC mode in QFAN options as well but it's still not as smooth as PWM control
I'm a fan, use these in my server and provide good cooling.
I paid $43 back in Feb
Was $26 in July. Just sayin….
Wow that’s a big jump in a month
And here I am going to spend $38 on a single 120mm fan
how compare to uphere?
https://www.amazon.com.au/uphere-3-pack-Computer-120mm-Cooli…Those upheres are not great at any RPM if you want a quiet pc.
Are these quiet?
Or should I got for Noctua NF-A14 or "be-quiet" fans?Iirc the f series are not as good but the P series outperform noctuas by a margin and p14 Arctics are the best fans on the market and a lot cheaper than noctuas
@wackedupwacko: yep
I have both NF-A14 and NF-F12 (on a u12s) and had the Arctic P14s and still have F12 pwm pst fans.
After trying both, I've gone back to the Noctuas and have sold the P14s.
Arctic
The only advantage with the Arctic fans were its price. The major disadvantage was that all my Artic fans had some sort of whining noise from 1000 rpm onwards and were comparably louder than my Noctuas from that point. Also, build quality wasn't great, the cables were thin and unsheathed, plastic blades felt thin and brittle, and if you just spin the blades with your fingers, you can see it wobbles (this was in all Arctic fans)
Noctua
While more expensive, the Noctuas are definitely worth the price. Build quality was far superior - cables were sheathed, the plastic feels far more sturdier, there's no discernable fan wobble spinning the fan with fingers. I think in terms of audible noise, it has a lower tone (if that makes sense) and is less irritating vs the Arctic, Fractal and CM fans I've used in the past.
Neg (to me) is the beige and brown color and also price hike for the chromax fans.
Sound comparison on idle
I was getting around 31 dB 30cm away from the side of my case with the Artic fans, currently 29~30 dB in the same position with the Noctua fans (room with no other ambient noise in both runs). This is using the Meshify C TG with the glass panel on. This is at around 800 rpm so at idle, theres not much difference.
@Serapis: funny post because you're running speed suppressors on the noctua's but not on the artics because they dont come with them….
the artics are rock solid and last longer on average than noctuas, which have speed limiters for a reason.
@petry: The low noise adaptors are optional add ons, I don't use them.
Decent deal. Note that these aren't the PWM versions and they only have the 3 pin connectors, hence can only be adjusted via voltage control. I recommend getting the PWM PST version which allows you to daisy chain the PWM connectors between each fan as well. Amazon have them $8.66 with free shipping if you have Prime and spend over $49 on Amazon UK/US.

Thanks got 6 for $51.96
The title says "F12", are they F12 PWM PST?
Yep. If you scroll down to the product information table you'll see that they are.
How did you get 6 for $51.96?
Buy from Amazon UK. It's only $8.04 right now….60 cents cheaper when I bought them.
would it be worth getting these to replace the stock fans in an Antec P101?
they're fairly quiet, but not super quiet, and wondering if these might blow a bit harder too.
and not pwm
I have the 3 pin version of this and they're not quiet at full speed (not many fans are I guess, maybe a few handful that are less aggressive). I got the PWM versions later and using onboard controller (mobo) to change it and they work great.
Don't all modern mobos have voltage fan control these days? Surely its a standard feature now.
Hmm, not sure about 'voltage control' but PWM control they do. The fan headers (4 pin) pulse 12V power to the fan at intervals to dictacte the RPM of the fan. They don't undervolt, unless some mobos do that? I remember 15 years + ago when I last was playing with PCs, I used to have to swap the molex connectors around to get the 5V instead of 12V power.
Yeah on my mobo I can switch every fan header to either PWM or DC voltage fan control in the bios. It even detects the RPM. It's not a super high end mobo either. MSI Z370-A PRO.
So yeah, can easily control the speed of 3 pin fans these days.
@bert-lifts: Hm, the screenshot itself says it doesn't support fan control for 3-pin?
@dainese: huh? yes it does lol. You switch it to DC control and you can adjust the voltage. I have a few 3 pin fans in my build right now that I can adjust.
define quiet and what speed you were operating them please..
Using PWM, I set the curve so it wouldn't ramp up to 70% loading until maybe 45C or something. it runs most of the time at under 1k rpm and having 3 of them plus another enermax PWM fan it is audible but not an issue for me. The tone is low, and the pitch is low, not volumetric loud or whiney.
PWM is a must for control and being able to set a fan curve to suit.
At load, such as gamin, my POS RX580 is screaming and overruns everything at 2600 rpm (92mm fans)
I think there would be and there are quieter fans out there for a given volumetric efficiency but you typcically pay for them say, Noctua. But for me, a few case fans to support ITX air flow, controlled to be generally inaudible at most times is good enough for me
Really? None yet? Fine..I'll do it…
Insert unsolicited RGB comment here
Why am I so unlucky. Literally bought this for $96 18hrs ago from ebay
Edit: O I got the P12.
Kinda annoying how these fans are so expensive in Australia. In the U.S you can get the 5-pack for around $22USD ~ $30AUD shipped. Still great value fans though
cause amazon don't ship them anymore - only singles- to gouge
I had these fans once. Great for case fans, not good for rads.
