Feel like a king with the 4 ply.

    • +4

      You are a King, King.

    • +2

It's good to be the king.

    • +2

actually 8 ply, if you are folder

      • +3

The parts I wipe off are all 64 bit. I fold 4 times.

  • +5

i use to be all about the 4 ply but when it sold out and tried the quilton 3 ply, i dont think its worth the extra going back to 4 ply

    • +1

      blasphemy!

    • +3

It might be the lack of roughage at the moment but I need something a bit harsher than 3-ply. Something closer to 80-grit will do.

      • +5

Have you tried the new electric toilet paper found here a real bargain and does the job almost too well.

        • +4

Lucky it says "Skin Only" I would have used elsewhere

        • I don't think I can flush that one.

    • Have you tried bidet?

  • more ply the better right?

    • depends on your a hole

    • makes more likely to swipe right …

  • The postie is going to love me, 90 toilet rolls are on their way!

Here is how 'per 100 sheets' price compares with Amazon's price for 3-ply rolls.

    • 3-ply -> 45 rolls x 180 sheets = $18 (S&S) i.e. 22.22c/ 100 sheets
    • 4-ply -> 30 rolls x 140 sheets = $12.38 (S&S) i.e. 29.47c/ 100 sheets

After seeing these numbers, I am ok with 3-ply S&S that I already have. I agree 4-ply feels better though.

Ideally I would love to see 'price per 100 sheets' mentioned in every post of toilet papers as that's the currency in which OzBargainers evaluate these deals.

It really depends on how many sheets you save using 4ply vs 3 ply, rather than cost/100 sheets.

If you're comparing them head to head in costs, 100 single ply sheets from the 4 ply is marginally cheaper than the 3 ply based on the prices you have there

      • +1

That's why didn't compare 1-ply or 2-ply. I feel that 3-ply vs 4-ply is a fair comparison to check comfort vs price difference. Also, the comparison is not to say which is cheaper (obviously most of us would know the answer); it's more to see how much is the difference and if it is worth for the extra comfort.

This calc is correct if u using 1 sheet to wipe ur ass. The 3 ply is so think I need 3 sheets folded so it doesn't break.

If 4 ply, 2 sheets is enough.

Effectively (for me) 4 ply is better value

      • +1

        so think

One letter off thin and thick, that's just devious.

  • +11

Gonna eat vindaloo just to test this .

  • +1

For those diarrhoea moments the key is to dab, not wipe

    • +1

Diarrhoea's best friend is a gentle stream of warm water from a bidet.

      Soothing, yet thoroughly cleansing

  • +2

Has anyone noticed that with 4-ply Quilton, the last 4 sheets of the roll always seem to have excessive wet glue on them and render useless? (Don’t want a sticky bum…)

  • 2 ply always rip resulting in stained finger/s. i'll give this a go. thank you!

    • Fold it and you'll get 4 ply

  • +4

    Coles has the 3-ply 36pack for $14 ~$0.22/100 sheets.

    • +2

      Much better value!!

    • +1

      this is the real deal

  • If only there was a Taco Bell to test this out with the day afterwards!
