Avian or human?
Geez, where do you live that you have to worry about it being human…
Anywhere in SA with Vic plates.
Bowden's range is amazing if you care about quality car care. The whole range is 35% off currently at Repco
Depends what type of 'crap' you mean.
They're a 'pre-wash', designed to get all the loose contaminants off your car, so that you're not rubbing all the dirt and grit across the duco.
But your car will still require a proper wash by hand.
And the use of heavier products like a bug and tar remover for the more stubborn spots.Super thank you.
Depends on what the crap is. For normal road grime, dirt etc. then yeah, super effective - far better than just normal car wash.
If it's sap or something like that, you need to remove that stuff first using other means as this won't shift that.Great thank you!
honestly i've probably done around 10 washes+ with the bowden snowgun (or any other snowgun for that matter) as a pre-rinse before I wipe with a microfiber mitt. FYI, my car has been coated with opticoat or the industry standard of ceramic coating and in my experience it's helpful in removing some of the bigger, more visible chunks of crap on your car. The ones that are big enough that you can feel it when you run your finger over it.
But for the dirt particles and stubborn pollen, which usually covers 90% of your car's surface, especially on the side skirtings and lower half of your car, I don't see much point in snowfoaming your car. I've tried chemical brothers/autoglym products with this snowgun and the foam looks great, but it just doesn't pull that dirt off. In the end, the 2 bucket mitt wash still does most of the work - which is much of the labour.
I find snowfoaming placebo and just a cool and fun thing to do if you have the time and car detailing is a hobby. But for actual car cleanliness, it's an extra step that takes time and I've yet to see see or feel the benefits.
Depends on how dirty the car is and what you are trying to achieve.
if you are just trying to get the car clean as quickly as possible and are not fussed about swirl marks, skip the snow foam and go for it.
If you are trying to minimise swirls in the paint and have the time, use the snow foam to lay down a thick layer, let it dwell for 5 minutes then pressure wash off to remove large contaminants
Having done a half and half comparison on my old falcon, one half with snow foam one without, I rinsed both cars with a pressure washer and the side that had the snow foam on it definitely had less visible dirt on it with the remaining dirt came off easier with less crap being stuck in my mitt. The snow foam free side had visible dirt that slowed down the handwashing as I had to keep rinsing my mitt out so I stopped spreading the crap around the paintwork. it definitely makes a difference but how much is entirely dependant on time, product used, the type of contaminats on your vehicle and pressure washer output
I totally agree.
Touchless preferred.
Separte mitts for lower panels.
Prevent the swirls
Snow & Blow
can be taken in a different way ;)
Hey all i bought one fromebay china import? and its been an absolute Boss of a unit. good coverage, good mixture compound. thick -
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Adjustable-Snow-Foam-Lance-Canno…If your happy to wait grab urself abetter buy
I've got the same one, tossed it in the bin after comparing it to the Bowden's own and other more expensive units. You typically get what you pay for with pressure washer attachments
How this one works for you? Have been looking for something that does not require High pressure washer.
It works with any garden hose. I use this to soak the whole car with soap, wait 5-10 min, then spray with water. This process can get rid of most grits that can scratch the paint during the washing process with mitt later.
Much appreciated.
got this and also a generic ebay one, looks identical, feels identical and identical output. Would just save the money. The mouth of the bottle cracked and snapped off after afew month of use. Just using a regular coles detergent bottle now instead.
Could you please suggest an idential generic ebay one please with a link?
Oz stock preferred
Thanks
I'll be honest about these products..
The snow canon is ok but not as good as several others such as MJJC ($46 from AliExpress)
The snow job product foams up really well, but it doesn't clean as well as other products such as the Karcher Super foaming solution (this one is corrosive though).
Tips: you're meant to snow foam the car, rinse off then snow foam again and rinse for the ideal wash, you can then wash with a 2 bucket system but I doubt you'll need to.
Bowdens is the best snow canon readily available on the shelf but not the best snow canon or products available.
MJJC Pro version? I see on AE, for the adapter I want the classic version is $22, and S version is $29.
It's MJJC S canon which I use. It's Blue and White nozzle. Has 360 degree nozzle unlike the bowdens but has much better internals too. It's $40.87 for Karcher.
Make sure to get some mesh filters too and some wash mitts and well everything else because everything this company makes is insane quality! Like 50x better than you'll see in Repco/SCA! Even the microfibre towels are around $5, in Repco etc you'll pay $40 easily!
Can you please provide a link for the microfibre cloths?
@rokufan: It's saying the MJJC AliExpress page is down for me. I'll post a link when it starts working again.
@[Deactivated]: MJJC website prices are expensive. Their official AliExpress store is much cheaper https://mjjcshop.aliexpress.com/store/803552?spm=2114.120106…
Their microfibre towels don't look cheap though. Appreciate if you could point me to the $5 ones you mention when convenient.
Sweet. Thx Combo64 :)
Damn you!! Now I have an MJJC cannon on the way
@OzBragain: You'll love it, they're so much fun!
@[Deactivated]: I've owned a Meg's cannon for a while but it tends to spend more time at my mate's place these days so why not upgrade
@OzBragain: Paid for express shipping and MJJC Pro arrived yesterday. Holy sh!t this thing foams…was almost like spraying a can of shaving foam on my car using Autoglym Polar Blast!!! Same mix in the old cannon would be running off in no time…old mate can keep the Meguiar's cannon!!!
Sorry if this is a stupid question. What is the purpose of the mesh filters?
@rokufan: The mesh filters are to make the foam extra foamy! It makes it super thick and lathery, like shaving foam!
Some say it blocks particulates and calcium.. I don't see how, but anyway.
@[Deactivated]: Thanks. So it's no just a maintenance replacement, a good filter will improve foam thickness? Like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32225008859.html?spm=2114.12…
@rokufan: Yeah, it becomes a maintenance part of you don't spray water through the canon before storing. Otherwise these mesh tablets just create a lot of thick foam. The bowdens one has a mesh filter too but just doesn't work as good.
I have spare mesh tabs here just haven't replaced the bowdens one yet to see the difference.
Does a great job at looking awesome when you are coating your car in foam like a boss, but not sure how effective it really is when it comes to cleaning, or pre-cleaning.
Did i mention how cool it looks tho
i cant see this deal on the website, has it been pulled?
How effective are these at getting crap off your car?
