This is meant to be a good choice for float charging a jet ski in winter months. $33 saving off regular price.

That is the purpose of this. It keep battery maintained while not in use.
probably better off getting the one on the front page of the new catalogue.

That's 5A. Wouldn't want to go over 1.5A. 0.8-1A is optimal for jet ski battery.
The 5A model has a trickle/float charge setting, so it can do the job of this charger, but also charge flat batteries much more quickly. You get a lot more versatility for the extra 30 bucks.
Yea the 5amp ctek has a small battery mode (motorbike symbol) that will charge small batteries at 0.8A+ so giving best of both worlds… and showing at $99 bucks for me at my local repco which isnt bad.
Ive been using the 5.0 on my jet ski for the past 6 years and the battery still going strong.
This is the real bargain in this post. You should post it as a separate deal.
Got it. Thanks.
This is the one to get if you have a motorcycle.
If you want to maintain the battery (i.e something you don't use that often) then 1A is sufficient for a lawnmower to a truck. If just will take longer to charge.
I only use my car once every 2 to 3 weeks for short journeys. I got a 1A charger and is perfect. Leave in charging over night that I prefer to a higher current charger that will charge it within a short time and generate more heat and stress the battery. This has multistage charging so never overcharges and trickle charges at the end of the charge cycle. This was $19.99 in a deal a few months back. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/550614Jeez that was a good pre-order price - now $49.99 and it's still really a pre-order since it doesn't ship till November 9.
Meh, I'm all for a bargain, but I don't want to risk my battery and expensive bike for the sake of $10. Ctek have been around since forever and have an excellent rep.
I wasn't suggesting to buy it at $49.99.
Don't rate my ctek charger, way overrated. Restore function seems pretty poor VS other brands
My experience is:
Ctek good
Projecta better
Victron best
These days, I hardly ever use my jet ski in winter months…
Could I also use it to charge, say, a train - which I could also afford?
