Just got a tracking number in my aus post account

        • what company is it listed as in aust post account? Is it inglewood also?

    • nope. must have gotten ozbargained. the other coffee guys arjo sent it next day. but this is a much better discoutn.

    • Still haven't got anything

      • I'd probably contact them, sounds like something has gone wrong

got something finally today saying the order is being prepared

  • Will the espresso ground beans work in a delonghi dedica machine? Just received and yet to try any beans on it but usually love Inglewood beans in the cafes I have been to
Also any tips to keep it fresh since I would only have 1 coffee a day

    • There's plenty of decent rated coffee containers that are airtight on Amazon. I bought this one a few days ago, it's pretty nice for the price and has a rubber seal on the inside. Certainly not the bee's knees though.

    • The Dedica is a great little starter machine for learning coffee however because it uses double-walled baskets you will find that you can't grind the coffee down to really fine as the machine will struggle to push the water through.

Once I accidentally purchased pre-ground beans and found the grind too fine for the machine.

Best to purchase whole beans and grind to optimal size for this machine (still fine but not too fine and setting will be bean-specific).

IF you already have your pre-ground espresso beans - then only tamp lightly and see how you go.

ah yeah? first review I've seen lol good to know they're decent

What grind number does everyone use on the baratza encore?

I live very close to Inglewood, so I directly went there to get the 'SUNSET BLVD' yesterday and it was my lucky day. I got beans which were roasted yesterday, so for the very first time, 2 delicious cups of coffee from beans roasted on the same day, very happy :-) :-)

    • +4

Well done but, if you are to be technical, that's too fresh! You ideally need to leave them for at least a few day - or more - to degas after roasting. Top marks for enthusiasm, but your beans will be a little better next week. Let us know if you notice the improvement on the palate!

Thanks fookos, Yes, you are absolutely right.
Day 1: Beans tasted well and creamy and a lot of flavour.
Day 2-4: Taste is very bitter (I thought my coffee machine has malfunctioned :-) ), but now I understand the reason.

Thanks again for pointing this out :-).

    • I got beans which were roasted yesterday

this is cool but I heard it's better to leave them for a week after the roast. Some dude at Axle coffee roasters told me that but he may have been trying to sell me older stock lol.

Thanks again for the heads up OP, wouldn’t have discovered Inglewood or this sale otherwise.
I placed my order Tuesday and the beans arrived this morning. Day 3 and Day 1 post roast respectively - very fresh and fast shipping. Very excited to try the coffee once it’s rested long enough!

  • Anyone else’s coffee end up in Strathfield NSW? I live in Melbourne and looks like my coffee is on a journey.

    • +1

A lot of Auspost from Melbourne is being sorted in Sydney, apparently there is extreme shortages in Melbourne and the need to social distance etc. so apparently it’s quicker for auspost to send stuff to Sydney to be sorted and then back again. Crazy times.

    • Yep Same here (living in inner Melbourne).

      • +1

How are you guys finding out the location? Haven't received any updates / tracking no. for my order.

        • You should have received your tracking number. Mine is due for delivery Today-Wednesday

        • I ordered the moment it was made available and received tracking the next day I believe. I also made another order last Thursday that I haven’t received tracking for.

          • @Phil22: Ah i see. Was it via text or email? Ordered pretty quickly as well but they may sorting through in batches.

            • @Baebs: An email from auspost with tracking. Nothing from Inglewood

  • Ordered 1x 500g and got 2x500g in the mail today. Can’t wait to try the beans tmr morning - super happy so far with speed of dispatch!

  • Hey has everyone received their coffee order?

I just received mine today (4 bags) and the packaging was very poor, no protection whatsoever! (the bag was a bit ripped too)

    How was everyones order/packaging?

    • +2

Yep, received mine today. Packaging was a standard satchel, the actual bags the coffee is in seems pretty tough. It’s coffee though…. so unless the bag is torn open and there are loose beans everywhere I couldn’t care less.

    • Yea pretty much what TightTerry said. Standard satchel. I’m not going to cry over ripped bags (only spilled beans). And I doubt your actual coffee bag was ripped otherwise you’d be crying. In which case it honestly does not matter.

      • I have actually had coffee beans loose inside the satchel before, so their bags can burst open if put under pressure given there’s no real protection from packaging used.

    • which day did you order? ive been waiting ages and havent even gotten a tracking number

      • Ordered on 28th, got tracking email today from AusPost

        • +1

          got mine yesterday
          del due wed.

          2 weeks no coffee. dyingggggggg

  • anyone here use Breville Barista Express? what is your dial for Sunset Blvd? Mine just arrived seem need to dial down to setting 2 for a decent pressure? The shot is good though full of crema but on the bit sour side.

  • Anyone else not even receive a dispatch email?

    • Look for an email directly from Auspost. Inglewood themselves won't have sent an update.

  • My order is being delivered to a Victorian address. For some odd reason, AusPost has sent it from Melbourne to Sydney where it's remained for the last 4 days. A bit disappointing.

    • +1

Auspost are sorting a lot of Victorian orders in Sydney due to extreme shortages of space and staff in Melbourne

  • Was really looking forward to this deal but my beans were sent to NSW by AusPost on 28/08 - tracking info hasn’t been updated since!

    • Mine didn’t go to NSW, just sat in a Melbourne warehouse for over a week. Ordered on the 25th and arrived today. The coffee is amazing, so I’ll have to pay $12 extra for Express or attempt that 5.7km drive next time.

  • Regardless of the coffee quality and the price. Its not worth it if you have to wait 2 weeks plus to get it delivered. I am still waiting for an order which I placed on the 26th of August. Been ordering coffee from others throughout the lockdown and never been this long. I don't even expect it to arrive right away. But what is disappointing is that the order was only prepared a few days ago for delivery so it is clear that the issue is not at the Auspost end.

    • +1

This was the response I received today when I followed up-

Unfortunately, your package has been in the hands of Australia Post since the 29th of August, so there isn't much we can do about the selection at this stage.

Also, sorry your package is taking so long to be delivered to you. Hopefully it'll be there soon!

im in Melbourne and still waiting for it.

        • +1

          Same- still waiting!

  • How are people going with Sunset Blvd? Can't seem to dial it in right. Comes out too sour as an espresso. 20g / 40g out around 30 secs.

I think I'll make the grind finer next time to increase extraction.

    • +1

Sour would usually mean under-extracted so perhaps go finer before you alter other variables and see how you fare.

I finished a bag of Roosevelt yesterday, and opened my Sunset this afternoon and it was very nice first try, BUT I had as a long black. Will go doppio espresso tomorrow and see how it plays. Also keen to try this one with milk.

Today I did 17g in / 40 out in 25 sec and was very enjoyable.
