  • Active, and no more aeropress go

    • +1

yep, i have been refreshing the page every 1 minute, and it says they have -1 in stock, shame.

      • I'm sure they weren't ever intended to be a part of the sale. :(

        • yeah, definitely. At least i made it past the checkout screen, but got an error right before entering my payment details. Still going to keep refreshing every couple of minutes just in case they restock them.

    Code works

    No aeropress

  • +2

They've pulled the Aeropresses. Oh dear, no order for me then. :(

    • what a coincidence, they just ran out of aeropresses

  • -1

    Managed to snag an aeropress.

    • +2

First ever post and joined 2 mins ago….sniffing the airLOL

    • must have started before 5pm then… shame.

      • +2

they started before 5, like 10-15 mins before, i was refreshing my browser until it happened, but still couldn't grab one :(

        • Thanks for that, it helps knowing I didn't only miss out due to a toilet break at 10 to the hour…

          • @team teri: LOL literally was doing the same thing. Was taking my time too!

          • @team teri: i usually have toilet breaks AFTER drinking my coffee, not before buying it :)

    • -2

      very lucky

  • +1

Looks like Aldi will get my purchase for an aeropress but will still grab some beans

    • You're getting free delivery, so that makes sense. Not for me, only with Aeropress would I have reached the $50 for free delivery.

    • +14

How is it a bait and switch when there's still 50% off coffee? Goodness gracious.

      • -6

Coffee has been on sale all over recently.

        • +6

Then go neg a Lenovo E14 Gen 2 deal.

          • -3

@frowny: Are you associated with them?
They advertised an item to get people interested in the sale and then pulled it before the sale began.
            That's a negging.

            • @Loracks: Not associated. And the advertising was on coffee - where is the bait and switch?

            • @Loracks: If you read the comments, people were able to buy with the voucher before 5PM.. I think you'll find you just missed out.

              • +4

@ryang: Got an Aeropress too, at this point the salt just fuels me 🤷‍♂️

                • @frowny: LOL - nah, haven't ordered a damn thing.. I'll get some coffee later when it all settles down.

            • +5

@Loracks: A bunch of comments from people saying they're going to pick up an Aeropress for that cheap, 8,000 clickthroughs, item sells out instantly:

              "BAit & nInTenDo SWITCh"

              🤷‍♂️

  • Looks like they have removed the aeropress..

  • What a bust. No Aeropress :-(

  • -4

Aeropress is not available 5 mins before the official promo starts. :(

  • deal is live before 5pm FYI succeeded at 455

  • +1

    aeropress not included:(

  • Getting a database error from the cart?

  • Error establishing a database connection

  • Guess I'll go to Aldi tomorrow morning after all for an Aeropress. And buy their beans too. Not much difference in overall cost.

  • +1

    … and it's down.

  • +1

Fail, wasted my time, sold out on the dot

  • Oh gee the website is down. Flat rate shipping is $5.

Wanted to grab an aeropress, but will happily buy their beans half price to support local. (when the website is back up, that is)

    • Website isn't down for me. Aeropress still OOS though.

    • +1

Update: Ordered 500 gram bags of the Roosevelt, Sunset Blvd and Spirit of Peace. Hope they're as good as Market Lane!

  • +3

It defaults to Flat Rate $5 even when the price is over 50+ please remember to toggle on to Free Shipping

  • +6

Best not to purchase now - let the craziness resolve from the server after the initial rush.

I've bought from these guys many times, but it is disappointing to have the aero on their site, but have no stock - they should have removed the item if they weren't going to include it in the sale.

TBH, I think it should be an item available at the sale price if you spend over $50 on beans - make it an incentive rather than a bait and switch.

  • missed out on the aeropress go as i couldn't check out at all. got the beans thou so i guess it's half of a win?

    • for the sellers. They probably had a lot of bean to move.

  • +1

Damn, logged in a 5.04pm and already sold out of the Aeropress. OzB hug of death or bait and switch?

    • Code was active before 5PM, some suggestions up to 10 minutes before hand.. Early birds and all that.

      • +4

Dude - there were no aeropresses (plural) even 10 minutes prior. I think they removed the inventory prior to the code going live. You weren't late to the party, so don't worry. There was no party!

        • +3

i applied the code 10 minutes before, had items in my cart since this morning, and still said there was no stock. I made it to the next page where you enter your details (name, address, etc) and then when clicking PAY NOW got an out of stock error for the areopress. shame.

        • I was about to say, I added it to cart last night. kept refreshing and it was fine. 10mins before, it was out of stock. it's just a scam to get us to buy more coffee. which i did. so i guess the scam worked?

  • ROOSEVELT

    Total price - $60

Just ordered that and it went through, hopefully its not an eternity with the shipping.

    • How did you get that amount?

      • +1

        Ordered 4x 500g bags

  • Beauty, picked up some of the single origin. Can't wait to try their coffee, if it's any good, might use it as my regular.

    • I like them a lot. I'm not a coffee "connoisseur" but i was used to normal supermarket grounded coffee and it is a world of difference with this one (kind of like the same feeling when i moved from instant coffee to the supermarket one). My wife even bough the decaf one and gave me a "i can't believe it's not coffee" look after her first sip.

      • Ah that's good to know! I've been trying out different roasters, my last one being from coffee cartel. Five senses is next!

  • Bit dissapointed with the Aeropress too… was looking forward to that. Bit sneaky to remove all Aeropress stock…

    • It appears they had minimal stock on hand. One or two people appear to have managed an order about 10 minutes before the official start time. But yeah, weird they still show the item on their main page if it is not in stock. Annoying.

      • +4

Their online store is just a little primitive - they are coffee roasters first and foremost - I don't think they change their storefront much - they just let the inventory counter triage when something isn't available. Obviously, it doesn't generate an out of stock label on the homepage.

        • yeah, i think that's the reason. They probably had like 5 aeropressos on stock, they probably don't need more than that on a regular month.

    • Ignore, sorry

  • It’s adding $5 shipping on a $140 order?

    • Someone mentioned above that that's what it defaults to, gotta toggle it to Free Shipping?

      • +1

Ahh got it - thanks - Sorted

  • +1

Ordered 1kg of the ROOSEVELT beans, $25 delivered. Happy to try these guys, normally just get the Aldi beans.

  • Spirit of peace is awesome black, my go to!

    • +1

well, you know what they say, once you go black…..

  • -4

AREOPRESS GO out of stock immediately. :( If the AEROPRESS has stock, i think they will have much more orders. even they do a 30% discount. Most of us will buy and try those beans.

  • Grabbed some Spirit of Peace, some Sunset Blvd, some Nicaragua filter roast and some decaf beans to keep us going.

  • +1

Aeropress Go can be had for $33.75 delivered here:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/560684

If anyone is interested after missing out on this $25 bait.

    • Shown as Sold Out. Seems they too had minimal stock.

      • +1

        Bait bait bait… :/

        :P

      • Damn - I must have snapped up one of the last ones remaining.

Perhaps they all use this tactic?

  • +2

Didn't managed to get what I want, upvoted nways.

  • That's surprising that they sold out so quick this time. Last time the deal was offered with the $25 aeropress, it was in stock and available for quite some time.

  • -2

So much mads in the thread for being slow to the aeropress go deal, gotta go fast.

    • dont think there were actual aeropress for sale bro. haha

      • +1

someone in the comments said they managed to snag one, maybe they were lying. Others said the code started working before 5.

edit: tbh i was expecting single digit stocks of the aeropress, coffee roasters don't stock that much coffee equipment usually.

        • yea. aeropress was just the bait.

  • +1

Classic bait and switch. Loss leader stuff. Tell everyone it will be available, hundreds or even thousands of people line up at the ready. Produce 5-10 of them for sale. The rest miss out…… but buy the other stuff while they're there anyway.

    • +11

They're coffee roasters. They have lots of coffee. Stop sooking.

    • Did you walk to the shop in broken shoes through 10 miles of snow to get there as well?

      • +1

If only, I think I'd welcome it. I'm not allowed to walk more than 3miles from home at the moment.

  • +3

FWIW- I managed to get an Aeropress as I luckily clicked through to the site after work when the code was activated. Just checked and the time was 4:49PM.

I also picked up some beans so keen to give them a go!

  • Anyone know how long for delivery in VIC?

    • Depends how smashed they get. I think last time it took about ~5 days for mine.

  • +1

I'm not buying one myself but I can see the Aeropress back in stock and it seems the code works for it too.

    • -1

Are you sure? Right at the bottom of the cart screeen I still get
"SORRY, WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH "AEROPRESS GO
(INCLUDES 350 FILTERS)" IN STOCK TO FULFILL YOUR ORDER (-1 AVAILABLE). WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE CAUSED."

      • +2

Hm, I didn't see it there when I checked but I can see it now, I might have just missed it. Sorry for the accidental misinformation.

  • Yer I got the Aero Press and I recommend the Roosevelt. One of the best basic espresso blends. Better than the Colombia for mine

  • +2

ok, called them and aeropress is gonna be back in stock mid next week, so no point in refreshing the page every 5 minutes.

    • +2

just adding to this - CALL these guys don't email them (to anyone wanting to contact them) I emailed them twice RE: a mistake with my address and no response.. called and got it fixed instantly.

      • Same - emailed 3 times over 2 weeks, no reply. Called them and they're very nice and got onto it right away

  • +1

    Ordered roosevalt and columbia.

any idea on grind setting for breville barista so i can stop wasting kilos of coffee? lol

    • You can just play with it a bit each time until you fill the basket to the right level in one attempt, and consistently tamp it to get the right extraction time/volume (from memory you're aiming at about 30ml in 30 seconds for single shots?). The operating manual for the machine should include some adjustment tips for grind size / volume / tamping at the back.

      • Grinder is inconsistent. Normally do double shots, 20-25 seconds 18g then volume to 36g.

        • Might be worth looking for a separate grinder - I got the Dynamic Duo back just before lockdown mk1 and it's been great

The grind size should at least be consistent between runs so you might be able to fix the rest with small top ups and manual stops?
What are the adjustable options on your machine for both the grinder portion and the extraction?

  • Anyone got a dispatch email yet or anything that wasnt just the automated email?
