Qualilite D21 1000 Lumen Flashlight for US$15.99 or ~ (A$24) Posted @ Kaidomain

The Kaidomain site has some discounted products including a compact 1000 Lumen flashlight the Qualilite D21

Qualilite D21 Cree XP-L HI 1000 Lumens 2 Groups of 3 to 5-Mode LED Flashlight ( 1x18650 / 2xCR123 )

It requires either a Lithium Ion 18650 or 2 x CR123s. I'd pass on using CR123s and only go for a 18650 for convenience and run time. If you dont already have a battery that is suitable there is an option to include one with the order for another US$6 which is a very good price however it may be blocked. 18650 batteries can be found from ebay Australia. I would opt for a battery cell with a button, not flat as the one recommended on the Kaidomain site is a button cell with a length of 69mm.

This same flashlight sells for about US $24 on AliExpress and has also appeared on Amazon in the past. The only two reviews I found are on Amazon and both 5 stars.

I have much experience on flashlights and although I dont have this one it does come across as as real bargain for the price. There are two LED Tint options, the Cool white 6500K and Neutral 4000k white. The cooler led will be brighter than the 4000k, the 6500k is likely around 1,000 Lumen and the other option possibly 800. People may prefer the latter as it has a higher CRI (Color Rendering Index) which improves color reproduction on items the light shines on but less overall brightness.

  • From the photos it looks a bit chintzy…

  • +1

Don't be fooled by the exorbitant capacities boasted by the eBay sellers. The absolute highest capacity available in 18650 is about 4,000mAh. If they're cheap, and especially if they've got a name like 'Ultrafire' - they are trash. You'd be lucky if they are 1 or 2 Ah.

    • Good advice. There are far too many misrepresented batteries and flashlights on ebay. Look out for Panasonic, Sanyo or Samsung cells typically. Check feedback too. If anyone needs some options please ask, happy to suggest

      • Also LG and Sony (Japanese and Korean, basically).

      • I don't rate Sanyo cells. Out of the 2,500 cells I have harvested from tool batteries, of the packs that use Sanyos, a high percentage are all dead, or have a higher than average dead cell count.

        My order of recovery is…
        Samsung
        Sony
        LG
        Sanyo

I haven't seen Panasonic, expect in their own brand!

    • I know exactly what you're referring to 😄
