Maybe put A60 in title as I got excited thinking this was for A80 :)

Well now you've gone and spoiled the surprise for everyone else, nice going.

      • Heh

    • read speeds up to 2,200MB/s and write speeds up to 1,600MB/s

Does that not indicate the product will be the A60, not the flagship A80 ;)

      • +3

Yes it does. But that’s not in the title is it…. ;)

  • +1

How does the A60 compare to the kingston a2000?

    • +1

      Kingston A2000 1TB is 2200 MB/s read and 2000 MB/s write, has TLC and 1GB DRAM.

      • +3

Loving mine! Way better than my other Crucial P1.

      • Cheers for info!

Kingston a2000 seems slightly better and that's why it's $18.02 more expensive on Amazon.com.au
EDIt- or $9.01 from Centrecom deal here

If you need an SSD immediately, this deal is the best for local stock. Looks like a 7-day delivery from Amazon.com.au

If you can wait for 3 weeks, this deal @ $153.72 is even better:

  • Great find op!

Wouldn't the SN550 for $153 be the better option? It seems to best this card in every bench bar one.

  • Can I put this in an enclosure and put it in my laptop to replace my hdd? I've never owned an SSD before.

    • No unfortunately this is an NVME drive. The 2.5 inch drives are all SATA (a different communication protocol). NVME uses the PCI-E protocol.

My advice would be to wait for the many numerous 2.5 inch SSDs deals on OzBargain. When you're looking for an SSD it is a lot better to get one with DRAM cache - look at the comments from other OzBargainers who usually mention if the listed drive has DRAM.

If your laptop is still using a mechanical drive I am going to assume it does not have a NVME slot (where this drive would fit). If you reply/PM me with your laptop model I can check for you.

      • Thanks Ryan. I didn't know nvmes were different to other SSDs. I thought they all used the same connectors still.

My laptop is an old Lenovo IdeaPad z510. Still love it and works great though, apart from my dying HDD of course.

Just downloaded an app that says I have Sata 3. I'll have to go for a Sata 3 SSD then. I'm ok with that!

          Hi TLZ,

Just checked - definitely don't go for an NVME drive, again wait until there is a great deal on a 2.5 inch SSD (all 2.5 inch drives are SATA) - but make sure it has DRAM cache as this increases read and right speeds. Any SSD will be an absolute upgrade to a mechanical drive though, biggest impact I have performed on my old laptops compared to upgrading ram or other parts.

          • @RyanG01: Thanks Ryan. I've been googling dram and SSDs and found there's also nand, 3d nand, vnand etc. But when I search for 1tb SSDs all I find is nand, even if I specify dram. How do I look for dram?

    • yes you can. Just look up NVME m.2 external enclosures. You wont be able to put it inside your laptop unless you have a slot in there that supports it, but you can certainly use it externaly and then if you think you gonna upgrade your laptop then you can just put it in the new one. Also if you looking for external storage, the samsung one's may be a better option for price.

      • Thank you Iraqi. I'm looking to replace my internal HDD though since it's been dying (for years now and I'm lucky it's still holding up lol).
