  • $112 at aliexpress

    • US? Did you include 10% GST in that price added at checkout?

    • I saw there too but I reckon it excludes GST. Ali didn't like my account, so didn't bother to check further.

      • Why didn’t they like your account? You could have just logged out or used incognito

        • Chat support told me that it's something to do with my card. Even with a new card my payment is still marked with "security issue". Support has no idea how to resolve it, always ask to change CC. lol-

          • @r0xz: Do you have a mobile phone number on your account? The Aliexpress external CC company uses it for SMS baloney and will fail without one.

            • @[Deactivated]: I have all details filled.

Anyway, I don't use Ali much. Could find the same thing on ebay, etc. although it might be a bit pricy but saves me hassle from dealing with such issue.

Wish pink would go better with my setup, looks cool

Do you mean **for any gamer who enjoys pink.

      • +4

I'm a relatively masculine guy with a currently all-black PC setup and even I think this keyboard is cute af. Colours are for everyone, don't pigeonhole.

        haha

  • Can I just get the key caps from somewhere?

You could carve them out of cherry wood yourself?

  • +1

Got an Anne Pro, and this looks like a pretty good size. Really miss the arrow keys/PgUp+Down when using it.

    • +1

If Anne pro came in 65% I'd have it on a short list. It's still a nice board anyway

      • Wouldn't a 65% Anne Pro just be very similar to this lol. Same switch options, similar build quality, similar price. AP has backlit keys but Akko's keycaps are better quality. Anne Pro has software, this doesn't.
Anything in particular stopping you from just getting this?

        • +1

Ha ha yeah, good question. I think it doesn't help that I have a low profile mech kb already, and ordered a royal kludge 71 just yesterday. The lack of backlighting on the akko and this articular scheme whilst I like, I don't love.

I am a fairly simple user only having recently discovered mech kb. don't need too much fuss, just want a look and the feel. Cheers

    • you can program keys to be arrow keys. We got Anne Pro 2 white with Kaihl box white.

      • I know. I've got those keys (and more) on a layer, but it's just more convenient to have dedicated buttons for high-use keys

  • I must be doing something wrong, app reports AU and after adding GST = AUD 135.27?
Even after switching account to USD - US GST: 8.64 = US 95.03

    • Gotta use the app

      • Thanks, didn't realise going through Cashrewards's page doesnt open the app automatically! App direct works

  • I recently bought two AKKO boards (incl. a 3068) and I'm typing on an AKKO palm rest, but I don't think this is a deal. If you're willing to get it shipped via Taobao you can get it cheaper there. Definitely think they're great boards though!

    • How much was the shipping from Taobao? Personally interested in buying from Taobao but have never tried it.

      • It should be about ~$15 for shipping for one keyboard (about $1.50 every extra kg from thereon), but you can only use sea shipping, which took about 35 days to arrive for me, but that was after consolidation at the Chinese warehouse, so you'll have to wait about 3-5 days for that. In total about 40 days.

        • Great to know!

          • @Flowerbomb: i used the superbuy app to order from taobao.

shipping seems kinda screwed right now due to covid. ordered end of june, it's still 'cleared and awaiting international departure'. shipping with EUB.

edit - actually i tell a lie, after 45 days it went to the airline.

        • Yep can confirm. I had a taobao order that departed at start of Jul and arrived at door 6 weeks later.

  • i was tossing between this and a Keychron K6. Ended up buying the Keychron K6 from Amazon AU. A bit pricier @ AUD$155 but I wanted to play around with interchangeable keyboard switches.

  • What makes this keyboard worth over $100 to start out with?

    • BT and Wired I guess? Cherry Brown isn't bad either. Also rechargeable built in battery via USB
AKKO as a brand also seem to have a good wrap. Then again, my work Kogan never skipped a beat either

    • +9

BT cost more money, special layout, the Keycaps are dye sub PBT which is a more difficult process and better material. PBT is much more resistant to key shine so it won't look like this after a couple of months. Fancy keycap design as well.

    • Keycaps, switches, case and i assume a pcb and plate that the switches sit on. also keep in mind it's optionally wireless

  • How sure are they on the 15-25 days… Don't want to get this in 60 days after I've forgotten about it

    • I think it took around 20 days for delivery. This is a good deal.

I paid $154 for Anne Pro 2 and Banggood was the only place that sold it. Amazon sold out. Now even Banggood has sold out.

Why are there not more manufacturers? apparently Anne Pro 2 is all over tictoc and highlypopular?

I’m looking for a RGB headset stand now and that is sold out everywhere for the cheap china versions, even on Banggood. The branded ones i.e Corsair is $150 the peripherals market is crazy.

The other popular craze is case mod like GPU stands/brackets personalised LED etc I can’t find anyone doing this in Oz. All China but their’s are the coolest, esp the animes.

I bought some RGB strips from Umart over 1 week ago and still have not received email to pick up.

Would love to see everyone’s set up actually.

  • -5

No backlit keys = no deal.

    • There is a super bright light behind the tab key when you plug it in. Thankfully you can turn it off.

I do agree, this is the feature I would most like to see as well

      • +2

A lot of these high quality keycaps don't have shine through letters (because most of the more durable printing techniques don't allow for it, and they look worse when the back lighting is off), so even if there were LEDs they would only provide underglow.
That is to say, you're not gonna find too many high quality keyboards with backlit keys.

        • A lot of LED lit keyboards have raised switches though so you will get a lot of backlight between and under the keys even without seethrough keycaps.

          • @Agret: Yeah but I'd imagine they are specifically after the backlit keys (for typing in the dark??)

        • Pretty much all the high end gaming KB's have backlit see thru keys, pretty much standard, Razor, Corsair, Kingston, Logitech, struggling to find a high end keyboard that doesn't have backlit see thru keys.

          • +3

@Ender Wiggin: Those are expensive keyboards, not high end ones.
Their keycaps are made from clear ABS plastic that is coated black then laser etched to allow for the shine through. The problem with those is that the coating eventually wears off and the plastic shines up from your finger oils.
The Akko keycaps are made from PBT plastic, which doesn't shine as easily as ABS, and the legends are dye printed on (process is called dye sublimation). This makes them far more durable, but does not allow for backlighting.
If gaming keyboards are what you're after, then there's a great selection and they are getting better. This deal is for a different crowd.

          • @Ender Wiggin: I've recently gone down the rabbit hole of high end keyboards - the most expensive Razor/Corsair/Logitech keyboard at full RRP is not even close to a high end custom build/ordered keyboard.

A set of GMK keycaps will run you $250 and 8 months in waiting alone, then add custom keycaps, switches, lube, films, pcb, cases, gaskets etc etc

This is a good intro video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4fQ_kdoOzs

          • @Ender Wiggin: I think my ducky shine 5 doesn't have see through keys and they are sensational boards. Some of the very best in my opinion.

    • +20

You mean, YES this is pink!

  • +7

Is there a full keyboard version? Need my number pad

  • +1

This is a good comprehensive review of this KB in the normal colour.
From my experience with the Akko 3084 (slightly larger variant), the KB is really good. The keycap quality is a standout at this price, while the case and build is also very solid. The one downside for me is the lack of software - while you can still reprogram keys its much harder and the instructions are in Chinese.

    • Seems like a good board. I'd like one in gray and blue, can't really justify it though

      • +1

If you're looking to get a mech I'd say this is a pretty sweet spot in terms of value and quality.

  • A mate has ordered us a DROP CTRL HIGH-PROFILE MECHANICAL KEYBOARD, still waiting for delivery from his US forwarding address, pretty keen, expensive but to notch.

Agree deals like this (under $120 would be a good price, bit not pink lol)

  • More expensive (AU$162.50) but I ended up ordering GK64xs, still has arrow keys and bluetooth adds hot swappable sockets and kailh silent switches for the extra cost.

    https://kprepublic.com/products/gk64xs-kailh-silent-switch-h…
    Also available through ali express.

    • looks like a rebranded skyloong

      • +1

it is, but Kailh mechanical switch option as oppose to the cheaper Gateron opticals.

  • After trying Cherry Brown, Blue and Red, I've come to the conclusion 4mm key travel is just too much for me even with O-Rings. Need a low profile switch.

  • Excellent, another keyboard to add to the collection.

    Pink keyboard? Come on boys!

    • +13

Yes becareful! if you touch pink you might catch "the gay".

      • +4

Haha. The keyboard does look beautiful. How is this keyboard comparing to anne pro 2 keyboard? Thanks

    • -1

Careful brah. Got 10 negative downvotes cause I mentioned it earlier. The Pink police going to get you. Lucky this isn't reddit.

      • +2

Don't worry. We have a wonderful community. I am sure all people understand I was joking. Go pink! Love it!

        • +2

I downvoted the 'come on boys' comment because I didn't realize you were making a joke. and, frankly, it seemed a little misogynistic. BUT…..
I upvoted this 'wonderful community' comment because I agree.
I didn't want you to feel hated on for all the DV's, so put my name here.
You seem like you probably have a really good sense of humor :)

  • +3

I don't think anything is manlier than a hot pink keyboard.

  • +1

Needs a separate row of function keys

    • +3

There's a version called the Akko 3084 which is this + Fn row.

  • No pause/break key, cant be used for PS4… hmmm…

    • Quite likely it will be on the Fn layer, but can't confirm. Otherwise, the Akko 3084 (larger variant) has a dedicated pause break key.

      • No wireless on Akko 3084 though?

        • +1

I'm using it right now lol! I think there is a wired and wireless version for the 3084 and 3068

  • Received my Ducky today, love it so far!
    https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_det…

    • Which switch did you get? Thanks

      • brown, my first mech kb and i heard its a good starting point.

        • Thanks Did you get recommend for this brand? I haven't heard this brand. How long is the shipping? This site is in Taiwan.

          • @HappyBargainer: I am no guru in kb but ducky is pretty well known and yes Taiwan. Quality is pretty good. As these are pre-order mine took about 3 weeks from US. Plenty of reviews in youtube.

            • @kaykay4: leopold also pretty good too if you want TKL instead of 60%.

  • This unlike OZB to pay such high price for a keyboard.

    • +1

      Not cheap but good value
