The $153.72 price only seems available if you have Prime. Shows as $161.93 with free delivery without Prime for AU stock with faster delivery. (there's already a deal posted for this).

I had previously ordered a more expensive drive, but upon doing a bit more research I settled for this more budget option.

      approx $160 local for a2000 1 tb seems to be the nice nvme deals at the moment, not sure what other drives that the a2000 doesn’t at the price point.

      I believe they're both very much in the same ballpark. The review I linked has benchmarks of both drives. I opted for the SN550 as it seems to have a slight edge.

        Also considering A2000 vs SN550 and they are similarly priced. Performance is also very close, only thing might be A2000 has DRAM.

        Between amazon tv, music and free kindle books for the wife even without free delivery it is worth far more than any other sub in australia like netflix and shit.. Also far cheaper..

      Nah, I don't Silicon power brand with my data, had a couple of their SD card failed on me several years back.
      I rather pay a little bit more for a respectable brand.

        No offence but SD cards fail on ALL brands and are quite a bit different to to SSD's, ive had Samsung SD cards fail doesn't mean there SSD's are crap does it?
        Not defending them just dislike people thinking a bad experience = all their products are bad.

              @Axelstrife: My question to you is, if you were in my shoes, would you actually buy the same brand again? given Silicon Power is quite new into the SSD market, we don't know how reliable it is years down the track. For me for a 1TB or data, I rather stick with a well-known brand.

                Recently had a multiple bad experience with Deepcool's case fans 1 started making noises and was replaced and then a second fan did the same.
                wont stop be buying something from them in the future though.

                  @Axelstrife: The Samsung phones I've had have all run like total garbage, I had a computer monitor from them which I thought was pretty terribly designed, I understand these things don't mean every Samsung product is bad but personally the brand is irreparably damaged for me now. People don't like giving more money to companies that have made them regret doing that several times in the past.

                    @[Deactivated]: Having owned Galaxy S1,S2,S3,S4,S5,S6,S7,S8,S20 plus, Note 3, Note 4 i feel that i can say that that remark is absolutely crap. Samsung phones are generally regarded as amazing phones.

                @kml22: No way I would trust any SSDs with my data without a strong backup process. I've had SanDisk, Samsung and Crucial ssds fail on me. Just the nature of the beast.

          Agreed, I wouldn't trust silicon power or any of the smaller brand ssd with my data. Maybe could use just for a boot drive with no other data on it. Smaller brands in the old days failed a lot and nothing's changed now, just a lot more cheap brands lol. You will learn from experience I guess. Personally, I won't even trust a standard Seagate for anything too critical.

        I have found the delivery time to be quite a bit quicker than the Amazon estimates in the past (by at least a week). These are normally worst case estimates.

    Just a reminder, if u want a 500gb ssd, SN550 is not a good choice. If 1tb ssd, this one is the a best balance between performance and price.
    For users who want to buy 970 evo plus or sn 750 something, most of u do not need such high performance and thermal control is not acceptable.

      That's basically what I realised once I read a heap of reviews. As a gamer I was kind of just throwing money away if I went for a $200+ option instead of something like the SN550.

      I'll wait till the next series of Nvidia cards are out to really waste my money 😶

      Amazon always shipped my stuff Expedited International Delivery when I bought stuff oversea and I get them in a week, about the same time as most Aussie store :)
      Most of my stuff if it on Amazon I get it from Amazon, fast delivery, easy of exchange, anything I ask for warranty or refund they refund first then I shipped asked question later
      It never failed me EVER
