Bizarrely, way better built than my Elite v1. Recommended if you can deal with the wire.

I concur; the cable is quite long anyway, and I reckon the microswitches feel better than the usual rubber membrane most controllers have under their buttons and d-pads.

  • Better than Elite V2?

I am using both. Wolverine will overall give you a much more responsive gaming experience. The thumbsticks are way smoother due to much lower tension. Also once you use the click-like buttons of the Wolverine, it's hard to go back to the mushy buttons of the Xbox controllers.

Drawback will be the warranty though. Only 12 months whereas with Elite you gets 2 years. Also really hard to find replacement thumbsticks, etc for the Wolverine.

Why is this so expensive, it's almost half the price of an Xbox one x precovid?

  • Rather my Elite 2 over this.

I've got one of these from when JB Hi-Fi had them at half price early last year. Awesome controller, feels great in my hands (the palm grips are minutely larger than the XB1 controller), and I love the triggers on the back vs. the paddles the Elite uses. It's also a great build quality; I have friends who have gone through 2 or 3 Elites in the space I've owned my Wolverine. Yes, it has a cable, but as mentioned above it's quite long and once you get used to it you don't even notice.

    Highly recommended.

  • I would not recommend this controller. First of all its wired ew
I have have had mine almost a year and the joystick and already getting a lil loose NOT heaps but for almost $200 I was expectating GOLD.

Just Get the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 all day ! I love this controller, best purchase you can make for your PC or Xbox. and really it only like $50 more.

    Just saying from my experience.

    • What was the warranty response?

  • I am just waiting on a deal for a normal xbox one controller.
need it by next sunday for the wifes birthday present, but pretty sure I will just end up at JB paying full price.

Highly recommend this controller. I've gone through a several xbox controllers and this has by far been the most sturdy and has great additional functions.

It does its job and it does it well.

    One neg -
It is not compatible with HyperX Cloud Orbit. More so, Cloud Orbit isn't compatible with wired controllers. There is a buzzing/fan sounds that comes through that others can hear through you mic. Only happens when attached to this controller or when other controllers are plugged in.

There is a fix though, but you need to purchase an additional cable with a mic - V Moda or generic Boom Mic from ebay.

Thought I'd share - in case others have similar situation and challenge.

  • A cord? What is the world coming too?

  • This controller is very good, in all honesty though I find the trigger system inferior to paddles for ease of accessibility in-game without having to modify your grip.

The actually feel of the buttons and sticks is pretty great, I have had issues with the extra bumper buttons occasionally sticking which is disappointing for something in this price range.

  • Can anyone recommend a controller with firm thumbsticks? The Microsoft one is hopelessly soft while the PS4 one is quite firm but still not firm enough for me. Thanks.

    • Just to clear, are you referring to the thumbstick tension or the thumbstick surface?

      • I'm referring to the tension. I'd like to feel a bit of pressure when pushing or pulling the sticks up and down or when turning in circles and it might help me to aim accurately and precisely (which I am hopeless at) at enemies.

        • The Razer thumbsticks are even softer actually. Almost zero tension. You better buy Elite series 2 controller. It features three tension levels which can you change yourself :)

          • @DealHunterBD:

You better buy Elite series 2 controller.

$250 for a controller?! No effing way. There must be a cheaper alternative for a firmer tensioned thumbsticks.

  • Out of stock on ebay already

    • Same deal is available on Microsoft store too. May be you can buy from there. Hopefully enough stock :|
