Breville 1.7L Glass Kettle BKE750CLR "Crystal Clear" $66.15 (Was $89.95) @ Officeworks (Online only; Free Metro Delivery or C&C)

80

Found this non-smart model to be $33 below the current $99 asking price at 3 other local retailers - a hot price (so shows Prino Pro; price tracking app from another deal). staticICE did/does not list Officeworks as carrying it.

2400W
Thermal shock resistant glass
Brushed Stainless Steel
Soft open lid - "The specialised lid gently releases steam and eliminates splashing."

Free next business day delivery to metro location, but not the only nice surprise:

Be warned that 4 of 5 Amazon customer reviews say this kettle leaks!? Other problems are … said to develop.

And I gather that the previous model, supplanted by this, was favoured more by some - not sitting so tall, and by the looks, sat better ? on its power base.

  • Damn bought this 2 weeks ago at office works

  • I purchases this (might have been old model) two years ago, after half a year the lid would open while boiling and continue ti boil. we got it replaced and it happened again
went and got the sunbeam version

    hopefully this has been fixed

    • Mine had the same issue where the lid kept opening, which is dangerous as the kettle didn't switch off. I also had the smart version and it had the same issue.
      I purchased
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/557232 kettle 2 years ago and its been really good. Manual lid and very sturdy.

      • Yep, can confirm mine also.

I'm still using it but everytime I boil the kettle I put one of those wheat (heat) packs on the lid to hold it down.

  • My Breville kettle leaks but only if I fill it close to the top. I have a different model, with a similar handle to this one, and it is not great ergonomically.

  • I have identical model,

They have done some improvements to the lid, just made it harder to open the lid, the press button needs more effort probably means the catch is bigger,

    • Did they fix the issues reported here? Because I had one, and it was a nightmare - lid wouldn't open. Other than that a decent kettle, but after many kettle disappointments from major brands I went for the $60 thermostatic glass K-mart kettle which is doing a fine job for me and looks just a nice if not nicer.

  • I have the earlier model. The soft-open lid only lasts a few months, then it doesnt actually spring open anymore.

  • i guess this type of kettle always leak, because the seal between the steel and glass deteriorates over time when heating?

  • Unavailable online

    • Still a green go light for Click & Collect from all Officeworks stores in state of WA (Perth Metropolitan Area).

"Only available online" is greyed out but it was like that when I ordered yesterday.
SMS before 9 a.m. this morning: "Your Officeworks order: ######### has been dispatched and is due for delivery today."

      And arrived around 10:30 a.m.

  • Harvey Norman in Malaga, WA, has a stack of these kettles on sale to the left of counter as you go to pay, $69.
