[VIC] Samsung HW-Q950T 9.1.4ch Soundbar - $1399 Pickup Only @ Award One Technology ($1499 @ JB Hi-Fi)

70

I believe this is the cheapest price online, appears to be pick up only as the shop doesn't have a web store so you will need to call them to place an order and pick up.

ishoptech.com.au also have it listed at the same price but it is currently out of stock.

I was able to get a similar price at JB Hi-Fi, call 13 52 44 and ask "Award One Technology" and mention that they have a physical store.

The Q950T is currently priced at $1399 and Q900T $1068 pick up at Award One Technology

JB best price I could get was $1485 + $14.95 delivery ($1499 delivered).

You forgot to add the $1600 fine for non essential travel

Lol, many stores are doing contactless click & collect, I don't see any problem here.

      • In a 5km radius right??

        • +1

Correct! There may also be a chance of having it delivered, worth calling the store to find out

    JB best price $1485 + $14.95 delivery ($1499 delivered).

How do you call this price match when it is $100 more?

  • +3

Currently $1337 at the good guys commercial.

So JB price match adds $100? That's weird… Is that a surcharge for price match during COVID-19 ?

    9.1.4?!
That's some impressive spin marketing right there.
Even if I gloss over upward-firing speakers being counted as channels, I don't see 9. At best it's 5.1.4

    • you have to accept a level of compromise in sound bars. They are super convenient, 1 source cable + 1 power cable for main bar, and generally power for sub and rears. They are compact and mount under a wall TV. Then they use a few tricks to try and get the other 'channels' bouncing speakers off ceilings and walls, sure it doesn't work as well but not everyone wants perfect sound if it means hanging speakers off every surface possible.

I have a half decent but dated 5.1 setup on our main TV and a sound bar on a spare due to space. Sure the main TV sounds better but i had to run the cables during the house build to sort it out, the sound bar was 2 holes with a multitool to run power & HDMI and 10 seconds to find a stud job done.

Oh I can't deny the convenience of them, and the improvement over just the TV sound is huge. It's just the fuzzy specs that get me.

    • 9.1.4 = [3x forward (L+C+R), 4x front surround, 2x rear surround], 1x sub, [2x front+2x rear upward firing]

      • -1

4 front surround is the most dubious bit

I've done extensive research on both this and the LG SN 11 RG and decided to go with the LG SN 11 RG. Worth having a look at as they've worked with Meridian to produce an amazing sound system. Sounds a lot better too
