Original description by the OP as follows.

Updates:

  • As per this source, Boost has generously increased the Data Allowance of this new plan to 85GB.
  • Apparently, the decision to end Boost Anytime Plus plan and introduce Boost Anytime Ultra plan has been moved from 11 August to 01 September. Hence, changing the start date of this deal to 01 September 2020.

Boost Anytime Ultra Offer:
For all new SIM activations starting 11-Aug-2020 01-Sep-2020, Boost has replaced it's popular $150 plan with a new $200 plan.

Inclusions:

  • Validity: 12 months

  • 85GB data (From this source)

  • Unlimited calls & texts to standard national numbers

  • Unlimited Standard calls & text to 25 select destinations: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colmbia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Phillipines, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Tawiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, USA, Vietnam

  • 1200 mins standard calls & text to 30 select destinations: Afghanistan, America Samoa, Brunei, Cambodia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Guam, Hungry, Iceland, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Laos, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, Norway, Peru, Puerto Rico, Romania, Slovak Republic, Spain, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sweden

Note for existing Boost customers:
Boost Anytime Plus Offer:
From 11 August 2020 01-Sep-2020, existing Boost customers on this offer who continue to recharge their service by $10 or more in a single transaction will receive the existing benefits (Boost Anytime Plus)
Thus, existing Boost customers (i.e. on the Boost Anytime Plus plan) may still recharge for $150 from Boost Website/App and still get the benefits of 80GB data and 12 months validity. To ensure this, you should not let your current $150 plan expire as if it does, you would be on 'no plan' and the only plans available to you then would be Boost Anytime Ultra which are the new ones available from 11 August 01 September 2020 onwards. Hence, recharge on/before your last day of expiry of your current $150 plan if you wish to take it again.

    • You mean they stack? Have you got $150 "plan" expiring till Oct 2021 or just amount $150 as credit in your Boost account?

      • +1

        Initially I asked the staff about loading the credit so I can use it later in Oct. Then she said she can make the new plan recharge extended to Oct 2021 so I am happy to go ahead. Now I have 10G data expiring in Oct 2020 and another 80G expiring in Oct 2021 according to Boost Mobile App. Hope this helps:)

    Boost website not yet updated. Still shows the old plans saying they'll 'end on 10 August'

    good to see, even though they are not on the phone with you they can still keep you waiting for hours, been about 4 hours on chat with them trying to get a port from telstra to boost.

    doesn't help that they don't respond to your message for ten minutes at a time.

    its like me: hi. need to initialise my boost sim and port number over from telstra.
    (waiting for connection - 10 minutes or so)
    (connection)
    they are like hi, i can assist with that can we start with your number
    <me provides number>
    <them 5 hours later>, can i have your name address, date of birth, password, favourite colour, childhood hero, favourite food, your first pet name, your highschool crush, your full academic transcript, and can you sing the second verse of the Australian national anthem.
    <me provides details immediately>
    <them 5 days later>
    we have a new secure process where we send you an SMS with a security number, this security number will expire in 5 milliseconds. so you'll need to provide it immediately
    <me provides them with code>
    <them another five days later>
    sorry our office is closing we'll need you to contact us first thing in the morning - here is your reference numbers, reference no 1 for telstra, reference number 2 for boost.
    <me contacts them first thing in the morning waits the standard 10 minutes for connection?>
    them good morning how can i help
    <me provides reference number>
    <them five years later>
    i can help with that let me look into it
    <me provides all information from prior calls>
    <them five millennium later>
    yes i can see the number hasn't yet disconnected. lets give it another millennium and see how we go.
    me is there anything we can do to speed it up, i wont be alive in that long.
    <them 1 billion years after the earth exploded from the sun expanding and taking out the earth>
    no we'll just need to wait for that process to complete first. <disconnect the chat>
    please rate the chat from 1 -5 stars.

      A lot of people may think this comment is sarcastic, but I can honestly say I very much relate to this lol 🤣

      • I've now been waiting for there chat representative to respond/do stuff for over five hours, and i have the chat logs to prove it. (well i am missing this mornings one for 45 minutes) - but we aren't complete yet! still on a chat with one now.

        well, while writing this message she told me it was done, tried calling it, still disconnected.
        had to explain to her AGAIN i want to port my old number across…

        and while still typing this message she's got it sorted number finally ported after 5.5 hours… she told me she was dealing with 8 other people at the same time - so no wonder its slow to respond… id rather they only deal with a few and i wait for the initial contact a little more, then it wouldn't be so frustrating waiting for them. I wonder if they get paid per call they resolve.

    I don't understand what people are complaining about. They can get 30GB a month for $25, or $300 for the whole year. I understand that low data users (probably most people who work from home now) don't have access to the $150/80GB deal, but this other deal isn't bad value. Have I missed something in my reading of the web site?

    • are you talking about the low data plan we are talking about?

      • Yes. I actually read it correctly, and seems many people did not. Check the comments below mine.

  • +1

    Either Telstra updated that document or no one bothered to read it, because it says 150GB on the $200 plan, not 30GB. There's no 12 month $200 plan at all, just the $300 in that document.

    • +1

      yeah it got updated . They couldnt tolerate the ozbargain backlash and have gone back to the drawing board to hopefully make a better plan or fix the pdf, and ad a 1 to the 30 so it's a 130gb plan for $200

      • Yeah, looks like.

    • nevermind, found clarification in other comments

    PDF at the link appears to have been updated. They have removed the new PDF and kept the old PDF:

    New PDF (was at the link yesterday 10 Aug):
    Footer: Telstra Mobile – Part C: Special Promotions was last changed 10 August 2020

    Old PDF (is being opened at he link today 11 Aug):
    Footer: Telstra Mobile – Part C: Special Promotions was last changed 16 July 2020

    Section 3.14 has now been deleted and moved to Section 3.1 which states the 'Boost Anytime Plus' plans which are existing ones (as of 10 August 2020).

    I have a downloaded copy of the PDF (yesterday) which still has that clause (3.1 for Boost Anytime Ultra and 3.14 for Boost Anytime Plus), but it is not present in the link now.

    So basically they have removed the new 'Boost Anytime Ultra' and retained 'Boost Anytime Plus' ?

    So, the $150 plan stays?

  • Looks like a product specifically targeting WFH customers.

  • Thanks OP for posting this so existing customers can make sure to keep recharged. Have to neg the post though because it's terrible "deal".

  • The old $150 80 GB 12 month offer was still available for new customers on 12 Aug: https://whrl.pl/Rf7tmT

  • how do you link telstra and boost accounts? plz help

    • I don’t think you can. You don’t get an account to manage with Boost per se.

      • I thought you could change the 28 days to 31 days through Telstra, or is that long gone now?

        • +1

          You used to get 31 days instead of 28 days on auto recharge.

          Now it’s just 28 day, no way to change it. Auto recharge is still available but will only be 28 days.

  • Update: Apparently, the decision to end Boost Anytime Plus plan and introduce Boost Anytime Ultra plan has been moved from 11 August to 01 September. Hence, changing the start date of this deal to 01 September 2020.

    Got a source for this? I can't find any reference to 1 Sept on Boost website.

  • So glad I recharged earlier this month then!

  • Merged from Boost Mobile New $200 Plan, 85GB | 12 Months | from 01-Sep-2020 - Worth It?

    Deal posted here has been updated
    Source of the data inclusion being 85GB in the new plan is taken from here

    So, 85GB instead of the earlier rumored 30GB which faced a lot of negs.

    Price: Up from $150 to $200
    Data: Up from 80GB to 85GB

    Will it be worth taking this for new activations? Or people will now start falling back to Lebara like in the 2018-2019 era. Vodafone v/s Telstra though, and no VoLTE with Vodafone.

    • Depends if you need international calls.
      And also network preferences / requirements.

    • You can buy a $40 Belong starter pack for $20 at The Good Guys & use Option 2 to activate.Then if you choose to stay for 12 months it will end up costing $110 with 91GB.
      This doesn't have international calls & uses the Telstra wholesale network, so it depends what you want.

      Belong has it's own advantages as well though =

      • You don't have to pay a large amount upfront ($20 covers the first 3 months using Option 2)
      • $20 Referral Credit.
      • Data Gifting.
      • +1

        data gifting is possible the best thing about this because you're able to 'purchase' cheap data from other people if you need more.

  • More speculation than fact yet again.

    Very poor value if true
