  • All of this I like (particularly the 480GB SSD) except I must ask which Biostar board? It isn't the one that looks like it has it's DIMM slots and PCIe slots covered in mustard is it?

    Good deal regardless though lol.

    • Do you like the 3000MHz RAM?

What about the $39 they want for upgrading it to 3200MHz?

I'm having trouble understanding why putting in a $2-$5 more expensive part raises the price by $39.

      • +8

Not sure it's all that hard to understand.

Bulk AF pricing on one type of mem, not bulk AF pricing on another..

        • -7

How many shipping containers worth do you have to buy to get >60% off typical wholesale pricing and why would such bulk discounts be limited to 3000MHz RAM only?

I think it's more likely that this is just a case of ripping off customers on the upgrades.

          • +3

@HomeAlone: Because that's how business works - sometimes you get good prices on one thing and not on others. This really isn't complex.

      • 3000 is fine. If you want more you can probably just increase the clock to 3200 with no consequences given that most 3000 kits are 16-18-18-38.

      • +1

This has already been explained in previous deals and confirmed by Luke, one of the reasons why techfast loses a lot of its value once you start upgrading especially multiple parts. Bulk pricing does not explain the big difference.

The original cost includes parts + labour.

The upgrade cost includes parts + labour.

If you upgrade, you should only pay for the difference between the 2 parts since it's the same amount of labour to slot in the ram in for both parts.

But techfast charges you for the parts + labour on the new part, without "refunding" you the cost of the parts and labour on the original part.

Light gaming and editing some videos and photos. I appreciate any help! Just wondering if it's worth the extra $90.

    • +1

For your purposes you won't notice any difference between the systems.

If you really only need a PC for light gaming and some editing then something a lot less expensive would be fine

      • Thanks! Just looking for something that can run some editting software well for education and gaming videos. I'll look into it.

    Any case upgrade choices?

    • No, the Leaper Air Maxx is the new top model for our range.

  • I wonder how much the ram speed is holding back the CPU. Considering Ryzen performance is sensitive to ram.

    • Honestly, not as much as you think, especially in general usage. Realistically, if you want to squeeze every fps out of gaming, Intel CPU is still the way to go. By choosing 3700X, you are already choosing better multi-threading performance over pure gaming performance.

If those youTube videos and reviews made you really want DDR4-3600, sell the DDR4-3000 RAM modules and buy a set of DDR4-3600 when there is a good deal available.

      • +1

Just OC it. RAM overclocks are far less harmful to the system and you can hit crazy frequencies on some just by loosening timings. I hit 3733CL18 from stock 2666CL19 at 1.34V.

  • should i wait for the price drop for new release.

    • +1

new release around the corner, depends if they plan to price them above current gen or not

  • Luke, does each buyer get Assassin’s Creed® Valhalla from AMD?

    https://www.amd.com/en/gaming/equipped-to-win

Is your CPU supplier willing to give out the code for that? Or, the CPU is already at a discounted price so not eligible?

    • +3

We're not currently participating but will reach out to AMD. CPU buy price doesn't have a bearing on promotional inclusion.

      • Just gonna post a reminder to ask AMD if the codes are possible? :)

    • That would be nice to have for the my new pc… I hope this is the case :)

      • Any updates on this luke? i just received my orders as well so would love to have the game.

        • Any updates Luke?

  • -1

Can we know the EXACT specifications for each of the components? Thanks

    • -1

Also, if I order this now, approximately when will it arrive?

      • +2

Hi, the brands and models in this build may vary according to what is on hand when the build comes through, and shipping is an estimated 14 business days for this customisable system. This is our regular business model. Our TF Express systems specify exactly which parts are included, and shipping is inside 3 days.

        • So is it 14 days to build or 14 days to build and ship? Just bought the 3700x unit and upgraded the ram, motherboard and added a windows key. Also too late I guess but it not possible to switch for the MSI case?

          • @Forfiet: Thanks for your order! It's an estimated 14 business days from order placed, to shipping.
