This will probably go faster than $99 AirPods at ebay plus month sales

    • +1

Is this supposed to be a good deal?

    • Actually never mind, I take that back, selling out slowly

      • +1

Wouldn't be surprised if they're just making the 20 units thing up for each of these sales, didn't say sold out or anything for the whole duration of the sale

        • It's probably all about making that 'sense of urgency' and FOMO.

  • This will be fast…

  • Showing up as $1069 for me?

  • +2

    nice deal,RTX2080 is discontinued

    • +1

      It's a 2080 Super.

    • +4

Don't know why you're downvoted when it's true. Nvidia have cut production for these cards. https://www.extremetech.com/gaming/312726-report-nvidia-ends…

      • -1

        that article doesnt confirm anything

      • Then they should have said RTX 2000 is discontinued, rather than RTX 2080 in particular.

    • You are right! New card is coming!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Well yeah the 30XX cards were always coming in the next few months.

But the 2080 isn't being made anymore because the 2080 Super is the replacement model.

  • redeemed by 27.8.2020

Ahhhhh, so anyone to buy RTX 2000 cards are to buy before this date, since they have to have announced the new cards on or before then, maybe just to get in a few more sales before the new cards are announced.

  • If anyone misses this or wants one with better cooling, there's also this for $100 more https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-…

    Ends in under 2 hrs.

If you have money to spend 1k on a graphics card now, IMO you're better off waiting for the 3000 series later in the year.

    • +50

Might have to change your name?

      • +4

        BuyLater

  • Trying to hold off for the 3000 series but it's so tempting..

    • Even I'm tempted and I already have a 2070 Super lol

      • +2

my daughter will get my RTX 2060 (upgrade from her GTX 1060) and I'll be going RTX 3 series.

        • What are you going to do with the GTX 1060?

    • Yes, its the best thing to do. The 2000 series will not have much RTX optimization support as more optimizations will be done on the 3xxx series for the upcoming games. 2xxx series was experimental at best.

  • Currently have a gtx1080ti. Is there much real world difference between it and the rtx2080?

    • +4

not "heaps" maybe 10 fps in some games, wait for the 3xxx series imo

Only real thing you get with a upgrade from the 1080ti is RTX

      • how about from a 1080 (not ti) to a 2080super? should i still wait for a 3000 series?

        • +2

I'd imagine that'd be a fairly decent jump in performance, but definitely still wait for 3000 series at this stage if you're in no rush.

        • +1

I use this site for comparing GPUs and CPUs:
          https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-RTX-2080S-Super…
Youtube is another way to check FPS performance and most cards are on there. Just type in 2080s vs 1080 and you will see the FPS comparison side by side.
Everything else is just marketing rubbish designed to take you away from the fact that the 2 series is just a marginal improvement on the 1 series. In fact the 1080 is superior to most of the 2 series cards… and cue the ray tracing fan boys.

        • +1

I went from a 1080 (not TI) to a 2080TI and had a massive jump in performance.

Whether or not you wait for the 3000 series depends on A) if you want to pay the probably inflated pricing for the larger jump and B) if you're having issues now with your current set up.

If your not struggling with the 1080 and your current games, and don't have an actual NEED for more performance yet, you'd be better waiting, if only to get a discounted 20 series card when the 3000 come out depending on price gap :)

  • Sooo close to buying this right now, at 4K it's about 60% faster than my GTX 1080, but damn $1000… i only payed about $330 for my 1080 a few years ago.

    • +1

      WOAH $330 for a 1080? Used?

Edit: And damn after googling the 1080 Ti was a better value than the 1080. That's so weird, I'd never expect the higher end card to be a better value.

      • Yes used, but that is how i buy most of my computer parts, still got my old i7 2600K which i got for about $100 many many years ago, genuinely seem to have less problems with the used stuff i buy than the new stuff i ocassionally get.

        • Trust me. i3 is much better than your i7 now

  • +1

    New cards coming soon?

  • Damn this is at the same price as the mid-high tier 2070 Supers! Great find OP!

    • I bought the 2070 Super for 730 a week ago and its still unopened….

      • Yeah the Galaxy. I mean like Gaming X Trio and EVGA FTW3 prices.

        • oh no i meant i was tempted to return and upgrade. But yeah that would be a mega impulse decision

          • @creamandpaper: That isn't too weird. I returned a PSU because a better deal surfaced, both were good but the other one was a little better.

  • Got one of these for a little more a month or so ago, great little card.

    • How are the temps playing games

      • Low-mid 60s? default fan profile is around 50% at that point and havent finalised my intake fan yet so could possibly do a little better.

        • Yeh i bought this because my INNO 3D rtx 2080 hits 79c in lian li OB11 with 9 fans.
In my old masterbox 530p it would hit 84c and the fans were screaming

LATEST NEWS IS that RDNA2 Big Navie is a 7nm die size of 505mm with 80 Cu's

Looks like AMD may have the worlds fastest graphics card in 2020 with Nvidia taking back the crown with a respin of their GPU on TCMS's 7nm in 2021

All Nvidia's RTX 3000 series stuff is on Samsung 8nm because they cheaped out and didnt want to pay the high prices TSMC wanted for 7nm and its going to cost them the crown in 2020 :)

more rumours and that guy talks so much shit and clickbait I unsubscribed a while back because I was sick of it.

      • I wouldn’t rely on a guy with his channel name either

    • +1

      fanboying should have its limits

  • -1

Must … resist …. and wait …. for the 3…. thousand … series. Oh no. Failing. No!! Must resist. …. or … should I.

    • -4

RDNA2 is looking to be faster, cheaper and use less power.

      • Sounds promising. I really hope so. And we should know for sure closer to the end of this month?

      • -1

        according to who?

  • +3

only $140 cheaper than other retailers, will probs just wait for 3000 series announcement in a few weeks

    • I mean.. $140 is a lot of money

    • Its 1070 on CCPU

      • was confused about why we're talking about last gen graphics card's CPU and then I realized this GPU cost the same as the name of my GPU

        • Wait till the $3080 Ti comes out :P

  • +1

3000 series are likely to be much better at RTX, would wait at this point.

  • That’s a lot of money for a graphics card. How long before it’s ‘old’?

    • +2

bout the second you click buy (its really an average - cheaper price for a gpu for today's lineup)

      • +1

Wow, I really am out of touch with high-end graphics cards these days.

        I’ll stick with my Xbox!

  • They got some cheap 2080ti there. Gaming x tro for $1800. I might return my evga 2080ti and buy that one instead.

    • +2

Why would you not wait for the next gen?

      • +1

        Nah i want it now.

        • +9

more dollars than sense.. seems we have found the anti-ozbargainer!

          • +1

@gizmomelb: if i buy all these things I don't particularly need at discount then i'm saving money!

        • +1

          "I told you so"

        • ouch

  • Great deal!

  • Great deal. Too bad I can't find another spare $1,000 in my wallet to buy this :D

  • +2

Built a new PC with a 2080 when they came out. I support nvidia next gen tech but the roll out has been pathetic. Barely any DLSS or Ray Tracing in the past 2 years. The premium paid has been practically useless. The hardware might be obsolete when it does become standard. Should have went the budget path.

    • +1

2080 is what, 3rd off the top of the pecking order? It's a beast. Rt is up to the devs and with ps5/xsx coming with rt you'll see more implementation soon.
