This looks great , Anyone know if theres something similar for Android devices ?

    • I have the one for my iPhone from Wahoo Fitness. They have said on their facebook page they have an Android case in development. Wahoo Fitness also have an exteded battery that works with the phone case to make up for the GPS battery drain.

stack your bike == trashed iphone

imo you are better off with a dedicated cycle computer. they don't cost much.

    • Yep, went over a bump recently and my iPhone come out of the mount an smashed on the concrete. Be very, very careful.

    • stack me bike - i would be more worried about my bike than my phone!! (and my body)

    • Totally agree with an Iphone not being the cycle computer phone of choice. I'd rather have something less fragile and less expensive like the $128 Acer liquid metal on the bars . Unless you stack it a lot or need 10+ Hrs of battery life on 300km rides . I always take my phone riding anyway and I have become quite attached to Endomondo sports tracker which is awesome .
I actually lost my phone off the handlebars last weekend . Scattered across the road . Put it back together again and it is as good as gold , but it's a HTC desire not an Iphone .

      • something less fragile and less expensive like the $128 Acer liquid metal on the bars .

You will have trouble reading that by day. Better get something with at least a transflective display.
Maybe a cheap Nokia navigator model with a small screen?
I tried a few things, but now just keep the Android phone in my jersey pocket for maps and logging.

        • I normally do the same but was waiting for a call . Cheapish cycle computer and desire phone under the seat . Phones are getting cheaper and cheaper , eventually I'll find a good cheap phone and some sort of ant+ intergration perhaps . I've had a couple of Nokias and have been very underwhelmed by their GPS accuracy .

  • Does the mount cover the top of the iPhone to make it rain proof??? Does not seem to be mentioned so I assume not.

anyone else misinterpreted "We have 14x units to sell for $99 delivered"?

  • I cannot imagine any "professional" rider using a bike computer that lack a HRM.

If you just want to log your rides, you don't need any hardware kit, just the built-in GPS.
Put the phone somewhere safe, and use a regular bike speedo on the handlebars.
This thing looks like a dangerous distraction. Analyse the ride afterwards, rather than staring at the shiny gadget while riding.

    • "I wonder if I am riding fast enough to make it to point A, by this time?"

Oh wait, its called looking at your average speed, current speed and distance ridden. Those stats are important during the ride.

"Put the phone somewhere safe, and use a regular bike speedo on the handlebars." Misread, you my bad bro.

On the whole, I get your point.

Also most cycling stores charge $100 for a basic piece of crap.

However I personally recommend going wired, simply because it works and wireless is always a pain. Also no need for batteries for the monitor.

    • if only I could find a wired speed/cadence with wireless HRM speedo….

RRP on the Garmin Edge 200 is only $149.95in Australia.

I bought one a few days ago. A lot smaller than an iphone with protective case. Waterproof. GPS so no wires. A dedicated entry level cycle computer for not much more than a bouitque iphone case
