    So these bulbs aren't bright?

    • Half as bright 😁

    • 84 Watt equivalent. May like to add $7.50 to the title OP.

    • "You're not dumb, you're just better with your looks".

    • Hehe. Ironically the smart ones are much dimmer.

  • These are great. I notice they've made the 1400lm globe slightly larger than the ones i had last yr from the single pack ($7.50 each at 1/2 price, incidentally).
After over a year, only one 1400lm has died. Note that it was inside a glass housing, which isn't recommended due to heat.
Hopefully the larger size helps with dissipation.

You do know this is not the old type which gave off a lot of heat?

      • Despite the small amount of heat LEDs generate still applicable actually

    • I noticed that too. Have you seen the singles around?

My housing is quite small so the smaller one (single) fits, but the ones in the dual packs do not.

These are awesome, especially the super bright 1400lm ones. We use them in outside sensor lights to replace the weather proof halogens. Our lights are up underneath the eaves, so protected from the worst weather.

I see your super bright 1400lm, and raise you to 5000lm

      • Thanks for that, their Philips 19 watt 2150 lumens ($14.95) ES LED bulb was just what I was looking to purchase.

  • What's the colour temp on these cool white globes?

    • 6500K

      • Thanks but a bit too blue for my liking

but these are 2700k which are too yellow imo

          • @CVonC: yes it's frustrating as they used to sell 3000K which is just perfect IMO. I regret not buying a whole lot more when they had them at half price in stock last year or year before.

            • @roh008: Bunnings has 3000k called warm white. Don't know why but woolies is called soft white 2700k even though advertised as warm.

            • @roh008: I actually prefer 4000K. 3000K still seems too yellow for me but each to their own.

@CVonC: Lights above 3000K will mess with your circadian rhythm.

Lights above 3000K will mess with your circadian rhythm

Not if it is switched off while sleeping.

                  • @RSmith: It doesn't matter if switched off while you're sleeping. If the light enters your eyes between dusk and dawn, your circadian rhythm has been messed with.

So those with cool white in their bathrooms should pee in the dark then?

Eh my sleeping pattern has been screwed from the beginning anyway

              • @CVonC: i've not tried 4000k - might give them a try (any deals on those temps?)

                • @roh008: Sorry mate I've replaced all my lights (except one bedroom light) to tricolour downlights from eBay. Cheap as.

  • These are great, even the smaller versions are great.

I've been using these for around a year in the lounge room and bathroom. Both are the daylight version which looks like bright white sun light (not tinged with yellow or blue).

  • Any recommendations for dimmable??

  • Bought 6 of these 1400lm ones for my kitchen last week. They were $6.50 halfprice last weekend though.

  • Bought some. Really good!

  • Smart bulbs can just be operated like normal ones just with wifi connectivity. The Genio ones are going for half price at woolies as well and they are simple to setup.

  • The warm white at woolies is actually Philips 'soft white' 2700k which is warmer than the Philips 'warm white' 3000k.

Bunnings stock the real Philips warm white.

Soft white is a lot more yellow than warm white, don't make the same mistake I did.

  • Cool daylight is 6500K, woolies westfield parramatta has lots of stock.
