I read a news article that mentioned Bonds were receiving a shipment of 30,000 masks this week.

I'd imagine with over 11,000 clicks from OzB, we'd be close to clearing them out! That or they've put a rush on the next batch…

  • Will wait for the 3 pack as better value as have to get it delivered at $5.95. No black in that 3 pack though

I got one of these a while back. For anyone interested in feedback, I am female (despite my username) and I found it very large, badly shaped, and without wire in the nose bridge it was also very gappy. I gave it to my dad and although the size was better for him he also felt it didn't sit well at all.

The thing that pisses me off with these companies is that they have popped up simply to take advantage of people's miserable situation and make a buck for themselves. I dont give a sh*t that they are Australian made when their only product is the mask and NOTHING else.

At least my support for Bonds is that they will look after Aussie jobs even after this situation has finished. They had products to sell to Aussies before Covid and they'll continue to have other products to sell after.

@franco cozzo: appreciate that, mine was around the same time so hopefully they will ship mine soon. Over this hot thick scarf

            • +1

@mouseman99: my order from bonds the week prior (also masks) took 7 days all up….so i expect it will arrive around thursday this week if you ordered around the same time i did and youre in melbourne too

    • I ordered a single mask to test out on the 16/7. It was eventually shipped on the 21/7 but took 7 days in the postal system coming from Truganina VIC to Nunawading VIC, metro to metro. It started in Sunshine West, then went to Abbotsford, then went back to Melbourne before coming out to be delivered this morning! I've never had anything take that long in the system before or be bounced around facilities like that. Usually once it's been through Sunshine West it's then out for delivery.

Also, the masks are big. The ear loops are not elasticated hence I've had to put clear elastic bands on them to make the loops smaller. All in all, definitely not OSFA and not something I'd generally recommend, especially for females, teens or those with smaller features.

    Back in stock again.
I got mine. It is ok for me. Good when i go out for walks. I won't wear it for supermarkets or crowded area.

  • Mine has arrived today. It's quite large as others have said. There is a lot of excess fabrics flowing straight down off my chin (think: beard rather than wrapping around like stubble) but it doesn't seem to have any gaps, just looks more like a crips face mask.

  • +1

I didn't have high expectations but this mask doesn't even have a nose bridge wire. Wouldn't buy again.

  • Received mine today. Seriously just like a g string, very disappointed.

  • Like others said. G string on your face. There’s also a card says only last 20 washes!

  • Bonds will be back in stock soon, they are bringing in 4 million masks in August / September

Not sure if they are the same ones.

    Back in stock!

    • The 3-pack ones are in stock as well this time.

  • So even with the coloured ones the colour is on the inside and not the outside? They all appear black?

  • -8

    Made in Chiynnah.

  • Personally would not recommend it. While out for a walk i had to adjust the mask every 20 metres as it kept dropping below my nose, constantly touching the mask defeats the purpose of wearing one. Didn't have this problem with the surgical masks. Also the material is quite thin fwiw.

  • +1

Sorry but I can't recommend these. Mine arrived yesterday, wore it today for the first time. The fit is loose, the fabric is thin and see through. I bought another from a local mum on Facebook ($5 each) and it's twice as thick, better fit and twice the quality.

    Save your money.

    • if its loose it depends on your face size…

    • I think fit will vary a lot (based on different head sizes etc and it's a one size fits all), personally I really like these, found breathing wasn't too stifled.

$5 is crazy cheap, around here all the hand made ones are $20+. I bought some from eBay made in Sydney (they never came, fortunately done through Paypal) for $20 ea and noticed they have jacked the price to $30 ea.

  • Thanks for the heads up, got another 2. I find them pretty comfortable (not too tight on the ears) and don't find that they slip off.

Nb I have a big noggin'.

(Personally I am not looking for N95 level of filtration)

  • Got one of these. They are good if you have a small head. Bit too small for me. It barely covers my mouth, chin and nose and puts a lot of strain on my ears.

  • Worst website for mobile

  • designed in aus made in china

  • without melt-blown layer, how to stop virus with size of 60nm? Yep, it's better than nothing…

    • +1

Its got the anti viral layer coated over. I really actually prefer this mask. Still easy to breath when wearing it. Bonds have a hard time with sizing. Same size and some saying its way too small for beards, whilst others are saying no its not too small but too big…you really cant please everyone short of going to individual s,m,l sizing on these. Then I wouldn't know if I'm a M or a L.

  • Mine arrived. Size listed as M/L but tight for me especially around the ears. These are much cooler with more ventilation than my N95 mask which I assume means it’s not as sealed/protected either (which is fine as these are not rated N95). I still doubt their effectiveness in the scenario where someone sneezes walking past you I’d prefer to have my N95 on in this situation.

Also the TGA issued certification is very basic and frankly meaningless:

  • I have a membership with Bonds and just bought the Bonds Face Mask 3 Pack $13.46 and the total price for 2 packs including delivery was $22.43 or $11.22 for each pack. My question is when the OP states $8.96 does that mean for one pack (of 3) or one mask?
I either got ripped off for paying more than $8.96 for one pack or I got a bargain for paying $3.74 for each mask!! Or I bought the wrong mask😟!!

  • Well I'm still waiting on my order from the 15/8 and look at the Auspost tracking. The last tracking event is a new one for me! Pretty crazy as I'm only in Nunawading!
