HP 15.6" Laptop 256GB i5 8QY63PA - Too Good for Price of $1099?

I am in market for a laptop for my school going son (grade 5, Vic). Apart from work, he will be using it for some beginner robotics and programming lessons as well.

I was going through JB Hifi laptop sales and found this HP notebook

Given that it is 15.6 inch display and 10th generation i5 with 8GB RAM, is it too good for the price?

  look at Lenovo's or HP student portals if he has access to emails.
  Else request TA to get one of the popular deals back in action:P

    He has an email id for google apps. Don't remember if there was any email access. Need to check.
