A rich, opulent nose with a satisfying array of dark fruits that are led by plum but met in equal measure by blackberry and cherry, there is a touch of black olive with oak giving an attractive vanillin note.
The wine is medium bodied with finely etched tannin and juicy acidity that balances the fleshier blackberry and plum fruit that gets a generous oak derived richness.
A great value wine at only $18 a bottle that is ready to drink now and over the next 5 or so years.

Clare Valley shiraz in a robust, no-frills style. Juicy blackberry aromas are rich and varietal, the mint and ironstone characters adding a distinctly regional touch. Generous in flavour, the ripe fruit rolls along the palate with a measure of sweet oak in tow, and the tannin is firm enough to provide the framework and the finish. Made for a medium rare steak from a wood-fired barbecue.
