90pt Clare Valley Shiraz at $108/Dozen (RRP $216/Dozen) Delivered @ Skye Cellars (Excludes TAS & NT)

Patrick Eckel - Wine Reviewer

Wine Rating: 90 Points

A rich, opulent nose with a satisfying array of dark fruits that are led by plum but met in equal measure by blackberry and cherry, there is a touch of black olive with oak giving an attractive vanillin note.

The wine is medium bodied with finely etched tannin and juicy acidity that balances the fleshier blackberry and plum fruit that gets a generous oak derived richness.

A great value wine at only $18 a bottle that is ready to drink now and over the next 5 or so years.

James Halliday Wine Companion : 90 Points

Clare Valley shiraz in a robust, no-frills style. Juicy blackberry aromas are rich and varietal, the mint and ironstone characters adding a distinctly regional touch. Generous in flavour, the ripe fruit rolls along the palate with a measure of sweet oak in tow, and the tannin is firm enough to provide the framework and the finish. Made for a medium rare steak from a wood-fired barbecue.

That's the biggest lie I have ever heard. We never call anyone, never have and never will.
      Maybe you are confused.

You might be thinking of the other wine seller with 'Cellar' in their name.

Ordered plenty of wine from these guys over the years and have never received a marketing call

I've ordered from skye twice and never had a call.

just like the hotel quarantine in Melbourne… irresponsibility of individuals pulls the whole community/society down… haizzzz

You must have mistaken that for a different seller. I have purchased from Skye Cellars 6 times now and never received a phone call from them. I know others who do call, but it is definitely not Skye Cellars.

Can someone give a review of this wine?
    Or a comparison to another?
I don't really tryst the professional reviews and would rather hear from someone who has tried it themselves.
Committing to a dozen without knowing anything is making me hesitant.

          I've liked the stuff.
          Am keeping it.
Kudos on believing in what you offer.
          Cheers!

          • @deveshwar0: Thank you. I only hope our non existing phone sales team doesn't bother you a lot. :)
