$165.39 delivered for Crucial MX500 1TB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm Adapter) Internal SSD
Not the cheapest, but I think this is good recent price for reliable 2.5" Sata SSD.

QVO has no dram cache from memory.
Crucial MX is comparable to Samsung EVO.
Crucial BX is comparable to Samsung QVO.
whats real world difference?
MX500 has Dram cache
Upon researching bit more, QVO does have DRAM cache.
However, QVO is QLC and MX is TLC so MX performs better on heavy read writes. QVO performs fine in light read/writes due to its use of SLC cache.

@12Ghast: if u just use it as a game drive, getting QVO is fine
one last u like 3-5 yrs other lasts you 9+
The QVO has a DRAM cache but QLC NAND, so it's more suitable for a boot drive than the BX. I agree on the MX and EVO.

This seagate ssd will be a alternative to shopping express's Samsung SSD. 64 layer TLC module, DDR3 Dram, 500 TBW, but worse controller for $12 cheaper.
For purely gaming purposes, is there any reason to send extra for an MX or a BX?
Nope :)
Get whatever SSD is cheapest (assuming it's not your boot drive)
Previous Samsung evo 860 1TB deal was better after cashback at $145.
I ordered one on Wednesday and arrived today. Unfortunately I forgot to make sure I had a spot to put it in my case. Whoops!
Would people recommend a clean windows install or migrate OS will be fine? My current OS drive is only 50GB in size.
Cloning your hard drive will work fine.
So do they just clone their SSD and change the boot SSD to the freshly installed one?
They can do that. Or just remove the original drive if they no longer want to use it.
In the past, I used EaseUS Partition Manager to clone the OS to another drive. At the moment, I can't remember what the limitations are in the trial version, it's probably time limited to stop working after 15 days or something like that.

Just follow the steps from crucial to clone the drive. They provide a link to download free software. It's simple as. https://www.crucial.com/support/ssd/ssd-install/ssd-install-…
Ah yeah cheers, looks good. I'll follow along with that then, just ordered a SATA power extension and once that arrives I'll shove the thing in there.
Update, just got done with the install, took only a matter of minutes using the software they provide. Cheers for the help man.
