But none of them leave their state….

Are you saying they require you to go direct from point A to B then?

        • +4

What on earth are you talking about? All of these are in Queensland or WA and don't require you to leave the state?

@BillyG687: I was being a bit facetious based on the possibility that these cars are not on rails as long as you get them to the end point the allotted time - go where you want? Sure there might be an excess Km fee.. but I reckon I could get one across a border and back.

            • @Elijha: They’d have to pay me to go to NSW or VIC!

        • You get bit extra kms to go here and there, not like shortest path from a to b. On top of that, extra mileage cost is very low as well.

      • Exactly

Be careful. Europcar has the worst track record I have heard of regarding complaints about damaged cars. The rectification prices along with lost revenue are outrageous. The excess will undoubtedly be very expensive. The Perth to Broome will be a pain as even the main highway has dirt tracks running into it. I drive down a few days ago and my windshield was constantly bombarded with rocks at velocity. Eventually my winsshield cracked. Most places of interest will require a significant diversion. I drove 5,000 km from Broome to Perth, not really any major diversions and in two weeks. Many places will require a drive down a dirt tra k if you want to visit. Some 20km long each way. We'll worth it, but it takes time and km.

My car also received a lot of scratches from flying rocks even on the main highway This is not the company I'd want to ask for any favors from.

I'm going to neg this, just so people will read my comments and decide for themselves. Other companies will be offering similar deals. They will be in reverse soon as well.

If you have a credit card offering rental car excess cover it could be worth it, but yeah, otherwise gotta be careful with those rocks.
I did a relocation on an Apollo camper from Cairns to Sydney a couple years back. I had 5 days to do it and something like 15% more km allowance than what a straight route was. Excess Km were cheap though.
They barely checked the vehicle at the end, all she cared about was if I'd emptied the water waste tank.

  • I'll take one to Exmouth for you if that helps? :p

I did a one-way return in NZ (Christcurch to Picton - was given 3 days) using transfercars … all went well and it included a free tank of petrol

PS Remember you have to find your own way back … in our case we were able to catch the Coastal Pacific train - it was a very good experience
