Wow 50 x 100 is cheaper than 30 x 100. Good deals though in my opinion.

    • Yeah, that's weird.

  • Some of the metal prints are on sale too.

fyi you can get this price all year round with photobookclub delivered.

Big W normal price is rip-off. I've bought a few from big w and many more from photobookclub - they're the same quality.

in fact for the 50x100cm its $10 cheaper at $49.

    • Know anyone who does glass or metal prints? :O

Big W prints are good value but I have found the prints I've had done at DG Canvas to be much better print quality. Noticeably sharper if you happen to be standing closer. That could be even just be down to the fact files are submitted directly rather than through a consumer level portal with all its unwanted extra processing. It does cost a little more though.

(Not affiliated with them, just my experience as a happy multi time customer but haven't used many canvas painting companies in general to compare)

  • I had couple of large canvas prints done by Big W from photos just taken on phone and quality came out really great. Was very impressed and keen to get more.

    • When was that? Last time I used them was a number of years ago. They downsampled everything to maximum 4000 pixels in any dimension, and compressed on top of that. Quality was terrible, and I ended up returning the glass print after showing them how much detail had been lost. Their staff had no technical understanding whatsoever when I tried to explain why the quality was bad because their portal reduced the quality of photos.

I do not know if their portal still uses the same technology, but I would recommend anyone to check the resolution of any photos after they upload it to see if it has been shrunk.

      • Looks like it doesn't resize anymore

"Your files will not be resized when using the Imagine Uploader."

edit: that was on pc. I dont know if the phone ap uses the same uploader or not.

        • Thanks, good to know. The resizing was back in the days of the client side Java applet. Glad they got rid of it.

  • thx op, grabbed a 50x100 - needed something to fill a wall in a spare room, fingers crossed a scenic hi-def wallpaper does the trick

    • print some of your own shots!

  • I ordered one 6 days ago with the same price. I'll wait to see the result before making another order.

    • Post up your findings when you get it delivered if your happy or not.

  • Anyone know where I can get a 60 x 90 cm poster frame?
Kmart is usually the only ones with it, but never have local stock

  • Just be aware that I have found Big W to be a bit hit and miss with colour representation!

That said they have happily reprinted every time, it can just be a bit painful if you order something for a present and time is critical! You get what you pay for I guess!?

  • Can anyone let me know how their delivery time is currently? On their website they say to allow 10 working days. I am needing it before the end of the month so trying to figure out if their 10 working days is average or are they putting extra allowance on but they are usually done quicker?

    • My mug took exactly 14 days (10 working days) to be ready for click and collect. Just picked up about a week ago.

  • Snapfish regularly have up to 90% off canvas prints (currently 60% off at the moment - prices are similar to here) They deliver through Kmart (C&C) or to your home.

I find they also compress photos, however all of the ones I have done have come out really well.
