[Backorder] Garmin Dashcam 66W 1440p $289 (Free Shipping to Metro) @ Appliances Online

Long time follower - first time poster :)

This looks like a pretty good deal for the current top-of-the-line Garmin dashcam. Haven't been able to find cheaper elsewhere recently.

Key features: 1440p recording, 180 degree camera lens, compact size (doesn't come with Micro SD card).

If you're after a micro SD card, apparently the Samsung Endurance Pro 64GB is well suited.

    Garmin Dashcam 66W - $289

    Is 66W loud enough though?

    Lithium battery or capacitor?

  • I can' think of how a magnetic mount would work. I either have glass (I use suction mount) or there is upholstery (not magnetic).

    • I have an older Garmin which is also a magnetic mount. There's a small magnetic disk which has a 3m adhesive pad which you stick to the windscreen. The camera has an arm on a ball and socket to which it attaches over the magnetic disk. Here's a video of how it attaches https://youtu.be/rKueP1HYdg8?t=39

  • UFO, there are some great reviews for these Dashcams out there, binkered? https://www.t3.com/au/reviews/garmin-dash-cam-66w-review

    • A dashcam review with zero photos or videos from the device. Uh huh.

I looked at some video clips on YouTube and it's fine but you can certainly do better for $300

All those kind of reviews are likely bought and paid for. When there's no in depth detail to see the real faults and positives it's a pointless review

  • Friend has this model, even though it has a wide 180 viewing angle. The sides of the frame are all skewed and warped, so wider is not better. Picture quality is good but seems to blur easier than other models I've seen. Movements from car and road bumps etc means less detail trying to get info from cars or objects. Could be the mounting? But seems to be the motion is just average on this.
