TCL 75C815 75" 4K Ultra HD QLED Smart TV $2545 (Including $200 Gift Card for Coles/Woolworths) @ JB Hi-Fi

80

I am looking for a 85/75 inch decent TV and this one seems great. No reviews are found and anyone with the TCL TV experience to provide your opinions please.

It seems to me that TVs with Quantum Dots (no idea what it means) is quality. I will wait for a while to see TCL 85P715 85"coming out JB HIFIor not.

  • Also looking at this TV, it is around 2200 on Good Guys Commercial website. Would love to see a review though before biting the bullet.

    • Any idea how to access GGCommercial?

I created a sunsuper account and got one that way. There is a thread around the place on Ozbargain with a list of ways to gain access.

I've read on whirlpool forums some people returned their TCL C815.

I have a TCL 60 inch which I bought nearly 3 years ago. On release, there was an issue with optical audio. I complained under warranty, it was replaced but the replacement had the same issue. The warranty claim was really easy at the time and also quite fast, but it turned out that the issue was a firmware problem which they eventually fixed. Now I have a problem where part of the screen has a dark patch. I'm still working through my warranty claim for that.

At the time TCL was basically the cheapest set of that size sold by electrical retailers. I think I got value for money but my expectations align to the price. I fully expect I'll need to buy another TV in the next 12 months regardless of the warranty claim.

    • Wow I've had the complete opposite, they won't respond to me now.

  • QLED is just a marketing gimmick to try to position themselves next to LGs OLED panels. Barely any difference to standard LCD edge lit displays and vastly inferior to OLED.

    • Why hasn’t anyone here posted LG deals on Ozbargain if they’re the cream of the crop. I guess they’re rarely on sale?

  • If you are not in a rush they get cheaper as the year goes on.

They are not bad, and we have most of them(12) on here at least 6 hours a day. So far so good (3 months use).

P.s The only thing that annoys me at the moment with them is how long they take to start up, grass grows quicker…

    • Don't completely turn it off. Just put it to sleep so it the TV will load/open quickly.

From my research I found all the chinese TV brands like TCL & Hisense to be really crap in Australia and most of the world, only in the US do they get these amazing value high end TVs which rival Samsung's best so don't get mislead by US reviews. LG OLEDs and Sony LCDs are best value mid/high end TVs in Aus when compared to USA pricing, Samsung a bit overpriced imo

  • Anyone know how this compares to the LG 75UN8100? Another TV I am struggling to find reviews of.

Was originally just going to go for a LG 65" NANO86 as I have read very good reviews on these but the new lounge room is bigger than I expected and a 75" is going to be better suited. Reluctant to spend more than 2500 though.

Currently running a 55" Hisense 55N7 which I am pretty happy with (just too small now). So as long as the quality will be comparable, ill be happy.

  • I have the 75C4US since Sep 19. Just love the tv. Android startup is slow - under a minute for the startup which we’ve reconciled to. Once up and running, it’s awesome- mind you I am not into any gaming etc so just watching netflix FTA. Best part is being android tv, all apps (KAYO, STAN….)are inherent and controlled by the same remote which is a game changer. I’d surely buy another one when I need it…..and if the tcl guys are listening…I am still grumpy about not honouring my $150 cash-back request…..just because I was a few days late in submitting it ;)
