Here's a tip that I only found out about the hard way with taking photos of your kids. As soon as you're in a public place with other kids around you're going to get every Karen in the universe accusing you of being a pedo.

      • Only if you're using baby dolls as your kids and pretending to take pictures of them.
I take my kid to playground all the time and take pictures of him all the time. Never have I encountered a Karen like you have mentioned.

        • +1

That may be because they are not Karens. Karens behave exactly like what the other guy mentioned.

      • Point out that it is a public place and to piss off.
The law is the law and says that if the person is in a public place then it's open slather. Tell to get educated. Do a fact check on the ABC website.

Stop using the stupid Karen name, nobody cares about dumb internet memes.

        • +1

You cared enough to comment. Karen…

          • -1

@1st-Amendment: It's a stupid American meme that doesn't even apply to Australia, you're only making yourself look stupid.

    • (of our own new born, just to clarify)

LOL finger was on the dial

$1198 in Harvey Norman…this is an excellent price op

  • Not avaliable now

  • what are the chance of failure on these

    • +1

      Much higher than ssd.

    • high enough that if you're using his for semi-permanent near-line storage, you probably want to use it as your games drive

    Imagine losing this

    • I snapped a 400GB once. Felt bad man :(

  • yep cant find it too..

  • Amazing how technology has progressed- i remember my first computer which had a 4GB hard drive that was the size of 2 radio cassettes

    • +8

Mine was 20MB and the size of a cassette player!

      • I had one before they came with HDDs :)

    • can it run Solitaire though?

      • +1

it was the size of a solitare card though

    • 3.5" HDDs are still in same size

    • 4GB? What about the Zip Drive disks? haha 40MB!

    • My first computer literally used cassette tapes to store data. The capacity was about 300KB on each side (for a 60-minute tape).

      • C64?

        • +1

          C4³.

        • +1

It was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K.

C64 was the second one I owned. Its tape loading system was even slower than the Speccy, about 100KB per 30 minute side.

          • +1

@bio: ahh I remember my 48K, and that keyboard was a sight to behold too!

  • This product cannot currently be purchased online

  • i didn't know micro sd of such capacity even existed

I was able to use eBay Best Price Guarantee with 150, getting it on ebay for 350
BUT it will take up to 78 hours so it might not come through.

    • Ok already got my 150 Coupon

  • can such kind of card be used on the Nintendo switch?

    • +2

Of course, it fits it works.

      • But I saw some card of same brand with nintendo signage on it, looks like specifically for the switch, is there any difference?

        • +3

          No difference, just inflated price

  • Would be interesting to have this much storage on my Switch….

  • You can still buy 512gb for $186. Bought one !

    • better to get from Amazon with cashback.

      • Maybe I have missed something but Amazon AU is currently selling the 512gb for $287.94?

    • You wouldn’t want to get the 512gb for $186 after you know the 400gb was selling for $117 earlier…

      • I really needed one for my a7iii… still a decent price. No doubt 400 for 117 makes it look not a deal…

  • Can we use this on our laptop and install games on it? Any difference to paying through the nose for a proper SSD/installation?

    • +1

SSD is still going to be faster as long as it's installed (inside) or on usb-c/3.

    • +2

Why would you? They are incredibly slow compared to SSD's. There's no comparison in performance. Any 1TB SSD is cheaper, faster and more reliable.

You can get a 1TB Samsung 970 Evo cheaper than this which read/writes at 3500/2500 MB/s vs 100/90 MB/s for the Extreme Pro.

1tb on a micro sd. Insane.

    • +1

Back when I was alive in the 80's….

  • I'm waiting for 1TB micro SD to be under 100$ :)

    • that will be another 5+ years
      and by then a 2TB microSD will be AU$ 240 !

      • damn , long wait then…lol

  • +1

FYI, useable space is 953.43GB which is pretty good.

    • but file transfers will be very slow… :-\

  • still showing stock. able to add in cart

    • Once you set your location it says out of stock.

  • WOW! MicroSD goes up to 1TB already?!!! Crazy how fast tech improves..

  • For those of you who missed out on this deal, you can get it at the same price from Amazon AU but it will be dispatched within 1 to 2 months. Still an awesome price. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/552381

  • Stock for this deal is backing again!!
