Greetings everyone, seems like Big W are bringing back this initiative once again as spotted in the most recently catalogue :)

Story time is upon us from the 6th of August

  • Week 1 : A Ragged Blossom Tale (RRP $19.95)
  • Week 2: Lullaby and Goodnight

The lineup is to be confirmed, but as per the previous promotion, the books are most likely for the age range of 5-8 years. More details will be updated as information is shared by Big W.

For this reason, we are pressing pause on Free Books for Kids in Victoria for the time being. We will bring our Free Books back when the time is right. To help make storytime more accessible for all families, we will be releasing audio recordings on the ‘BIG W Free Books for Kids’ podcast each week.

    Previously got one of the books (Hush Little Possum) and read it at a kids group. They loved it. (They were 3&4).

    So hopefully I'll pickup a couple more varieties this time

      That was one of the better ones from that series and probably the only one we still read out of the whole set.

      The rest were interesting. "There was an old lady who swallowed a mozzie" was terrifying.

        The "swallowed" books are the worst tripe ever. There's so many variations of them. Please, whoever it is, stop publishing them.

    Hopefully quality is better than free Wiggles ones.
    Gave to toddler to hold and cover had fallen off before we'd left the store.

    Hopefully bigness manages the hand out of these. Stores I went to routinely ran out within hours or didn't even get them in.

    Only just learnt about these books from this post - do I grab them from the book section or the checkout or do I have to go ask an employee?

    Also, do they only give out the current weeks book or if they have the older titles can I grab those as well?

    Looking to post to my nephew in Vic since they cant get them instore.

      They're at the front of the store in a cardboard display case. Just take them.

      At my local they run out of books but when they've run this scheme previously, I have seen back copies displayed in the same place. What they've got they bring out.

    I grabbed the 'Diary of a Minecraft Zombie' book today which is the second-last book.

    Spoke to a staff member who said that stock for VIC stores is there (for all 8 books) and once the state opens up the books will be in-store at that time.
