Xiaomi POCO F2 Pro 5G 6GB/128GB Dual Sim - Cyber Grey $673.55 Delivered (HK) (Grey Import) @ TobyDeals

162

First post from long time lurker.

Was looking around for a good price on the Poco F2 Pro and seems like the cheapest for the 6GB Ram/128GB Storage.
I've heard many bad things and many okay things from TobyDeals and since I haven't been burnt by them yet I thought I'd give them a go and see what happens.

Seems the Electric Purple is also priced at $673.55 and a few others have been reduced a little.

If there are any mistakes please let me know and I'll do my best to fix them up.

*Edit: Updated to Grey Import
*Edit: GST not inclusive

I suggest everyone to have a read of TobyDeals forum posts

I've heard many bad things and many ok things about fire so I am going to light one and touch it to see if I get burned…

Do we really want to put our lives on a device that the Chinese Communist Party has backdoor access to?

    • +2

which backdoor access are you talking about? yours?

    • -2

Are you here to find bargains or what? Don't think too much of yourself, CCP wouldn't care shoot about your poor life…

    • +1

This is a phone not a parachute. Also, CCP or not, it probably still calls 000 fine

    • I've bought from Toby's Deal. My suggestion is try contact them first (email or chat if they have it) to check if they have it in stock.

    • -1

Seems I've triggered some poor souls.

Ignore the fact across the Western world the 5G roll out is being denied access to by Chinese companies due to these real issues. But ok

      • +3

Why does any counter argument or point mean someone is "triggered"?

Unless you have undeniable proof that the phone has backdoors and that are accessible to the CCP, your points are just an opinion which can be argued.

      • +3

Just can't let go of your mysterious ego huh? It's just your poor soul that triggers the sickness towards all these BS on such a deal finding site.
Go spreading your "genius idea" on twitter or FB maybe?

      • +3

Given that you brought it up, surely you're the snowflake being "triggered", if anything.

      • +3

        And somewhat related……

Aliens crash landed in Area 51, and man never walked on the moon.

    • Ur face looks like CCP OR PPC LOL

  • I bought my 8gb Poco F2 from Tobydeals. I received it a couple of weeks after payment - love the phone! No complaints other than they sent they sent the wrong power adapter/convert with it.

    • @PR0r Hey yeah I saw that as well but I couldn't confirm whether it had Band 28 since it wasn't listed in the description and could only confirm the one from TobyDeals as having Band 28.

      • +2

All Poco F2s have Band 28.

    • Looks like you can get a $20 USD "new" user discount there as well.

    TobyDeals? Nope.

    Xiaomi? Nope.

    Grey Import? Nope.

well ,i bought a xiaomi redmi note 8t from toby and it was delivered within 2 weeks and havent had any issues. I understand other have had problems, but personally i havent found them any worse then Kogan….

      • people buy insurance even though it is a negative NPV investment for peace of mind. Same goes for this, nothing may have happened in 2 weeks, but how long do you expect to use that phone for

        • dont quite understand your meaning here sorry…

          • @JuryWheel: I meant that it's good that you haven't had any issue, you never want any issue to occur and even if no issue occurs, it is still better to have a good warranty

            • @ln28909: im not sure id trust any of these online retailers with warranty TBH….bricks and mortar like officeworks is probably a better bet…HOWEVER, for under $300, if i can get 18-24 months out of it, id be pretty happy….touch wood

              • @JuryWheel: yeah for something that is less than $300, I probably wouldn't mind the gamble for a bit of fun, but for $600+, I wouldn't

      Thanks for your valuable input.

      • You're welcome. Just trying to save more people having a very poor experience.

      What's wrong with Xiaomi?

      I understand TobyDeals,

Not sure the issue with Grey Import as flashing the Global or EEA ROM is extremely easy

But curious to know why you think Xiaomi is a bad idea?

      • +3

Because Murica has brainwashed the world to think that everything China is corrupt and bad.. that the Communist party will spy on you.. 50's style. Considering that most of the world's products are manufactured there in some form or another.

        • +3

I think Facebook and Google have the same if not more info than what the Chinese government would get from my Mi 9T Pro.

And most if not all android phones (Huawei I guess not) use google play services so, even if I didn't use a Xiaomi or Chinese branded phone they'd still very much have the same info of me.

Roughly an extra ~$12, by the time you add shipping, from here as an alternative https://mymobile.com.au/xiaomi-poco-f2-pro-dual-5g-128gb-gre…

    • Anyone have personal experience with https://mymobile.com.au?
Seen as you will most likely throw a case on it anyway, $668.69 delivered for the blue is pretty good! https://mymobile.com.au/xiaomi-poco-f2-pro-dual-5g-128gb-blu…

That thread is about buymobile, not mymobile.

Apologies to the legit Australian business that also runs a real shop!

Now that I've reviewed them (they also have a valid ABN), I would be more comfortable buying from them than any Chinese seller doing drop-shipping and claiming that item is located in Australia. They do charge for GST (buymobile). Being an Australian business, buymobile must also conform to Australian consumer law.

  • Is GST included in the price?

    • -1

@vanquish Yes! I have updated the post to reflect the inclusive GST.

    • +1

No. Tobydeals pricing doesn't include GST. They ignore it all together - so if the package is checked by customs/border force, it will be added.

      • @willyroo I'm not quite sure where you got that as I went through the checkout and my final fee was $673.55.

        • +1

The price is the price, they don't add GST. They're ignoring the requirement to add GST if they sell into Australia.

          • @willyroo: @willyroo My apologies, you are correct my friend. I looked back at my purchase and there is no indication of GST and I have updated the listing to reflect that.

Tobydeals should be banned from ozbargain. I am happy to provide my correspondence with them, they are very dodgy.
