I dunno if it's constant stock as OP mentioned, EB Games/JB Hi Fi etc had these up as a second round of preorders available to be released today (10/07/20) so might just be these stores getting their allotments!

There's a limited edition etching on the back of the actual console and the unique colour scheme for the joy-con, which cannot be officially purchased separately.
wrong. it's only a special edition. and that's why Nintendo keep releasing batches as long as it can boost sales. limited edition is more about one time only release.
There's not enough "margin" to scalp it really. Unless it appreciates in the future you are making $100 after fees and charges. I haven't even accounted for time spent in postage, transport, etc.
Don't forget there is a collectors market as well.
$100 for mailing a package is a good return to a lot of people. You're imaging a scalper as some one without ample free time.
They also don't scalp one item. If they're mailing out X a week, $100 on these AC switches is just fine. They come in a postage box already, they just relabel them and drop them off in bulk.
i sold my jbhifi preorder for $905aud after tax and ebay fees. shipping is on me, which will cost roughly $60 to the US.
Still a tidy $370 profit. don't forget the global collectors market.

Why do you hate Switches so much?
I don’t. Just incredible how fast these things are selling. People are going nuts for them. It feel like most deals are for this bloody console these days. Regardless of whether it’s even at a reduced price.
I think we get more Techfast deals than Switch.
We also get an abundance of Amazon deals so I don’t think it’s correct to say there’s an overload of Switch deals.
Maybe it's because people are going nuts for them that there are so many deals appearing on the front page. If no-one was interested, they would just get buried somewhere along with those deals for, I dunno, fridge magnets. It's not really that half of everyone's posts are about Switches, just the highlighted ones are.
I didn't go for this one though, can't justify paying extra for a different design :)

there needs to be a deal on the joycons. they break with hardly any use.
I already had to send a paid back for repairs.
They should be $40 to $50 for a pair max.
