HFC nbn Activation- What Could Go Wrong?

—UPDATE—
Evertything went alright. Technician was on-time, called me 1 hour before he arrived.
It was a direct instalation from one of the F-Type ports.
Thanks everyone.

Hi,
Recently moved to a Ground floor unit of an apartment building and I have my nbn technician appointment this Saturday.
Service - HFC
Service class - 23 (HFC premises with a lead-in and wall-plate in place but no NTD installed)
The building is fairly new and there are a couple of units already connected to NBN.

These are the wall ports

Two F-type wall sockets with Telephone - https://imgur.com/6JnPUNy
TV cable - https://imgur.com/K1ttZ6s

I'm not sure if the previous tenant had cable TV running and body cooperate wouldn't allow doing any external penetrations.

I hope this will be a straightforward installation but just to be prepared for the worst part what could possibly go wrong on the installation day?

How's my wall sockets look like? Are they look like they are NBN ready and connected to whatever the cables required for NBN on the street? Would that be a direct plug and play kinda setup?

As this is HFC, I hope the technician wouldn't need to access MDF or Communication box and even if they do, they would have the keys with them, wouldn't it?

Thank you heaps!

    Good luck mate!

Hopefully looks super clean and easy for you if the unit has had cable tv connected in the past.

They just need to make the connection in the basement (yes they'll have access keys) and then plug in the NTD and away you go!

For my HFC, it was a mini nightmare as the apartment had never had cable so the conduit just had a string through it. NBN guys tied the coax to it and pulled it through but right near the end it got stuck cos cement rendering chunks had fallen into the conduit and jammed it up! Haha

Much back and forth yanking and some vacuuming of the conduit and finally got it through, phew!

Again you should be fine as it seems to be all connected already!

    • Cheers mate! Given that Belong is my ISP, I completely want to stay away from the back and forth buck-passing between them and nbnco. Got the keys three weeks in advance to make it hassle-free as much as possible. Thanks again!

Should be fine. I ended up getting a tech to come back a few months later as my upload speed was ~20 instead of ~40. He replaced some old splitters/connectors and all was good.

    • Thanks mate, that's a relief

    • I think new (HFC) connections are limited to 20 up now anyway, unless you get a higher plan (if available at your location). The ISPs are keeping it very quiet because most haven't dropped their prices even though they're selling an inferior product.

      • Nah, my HFC does 100/40 no problems.

I'm just tight and only paying for 25/5 at the moment. Thanks Rona….

        • When were you connected though? The 100/20 plans began in May at the same time as the 250/25 and 1000/50 offers.

      • No limitation. 100/20 & 100/40 Mbps AVC offerings are up to the ISP.

    body cooperate

What a typo, co-operation is the last thing anyone should expect from a body corporate.
