These are uncertain times and we don't want you to worry about staying connected. To do our bit, we’re offering:
❇️ Unlimited data for our home and small business broadband customers (ADSL, NBN, Cable) until 31 August 2020
❇️ 25GB extra data available for 30 days for our post-paid personal and small business mobile customers
❇️ 10GB extra data available for 28 to 30 days (depending on your plan) for our $40+ pre-paid customers
❇️ Unlimited standard calls within Australia for eligible pensioner customers on landlines through 31 August 2020.

Unlimited Broadband Data automatically applied and Extra Mobile Data can be redeemed through the My Telstra app from Tuesday July 14 and will be applied within 24-48 hours.


Eligible customers can apply for the extra data via our My Telstra app from Tuesday until 31 August 2020 and the data will be available within 24-48 hours

Edit: Updated link. Postpaid and prepaid mobile customers can register your details on the form to receive the data. An SMS will be sent out once the extra data has been applied. Broadband customers do not need to do anything. Thanks cyberlander

    With increased COVID-19 restrictions around the Melbourne metropolitan area and the Mitchell Shire, we want to help our affected customers stay connected – that’s why we’re offering our eligible consumer and small business customers in those areas additional mobile data, as well as offering unlimited home phone calls to pensioners.         If optus had a similar offer all their customers would receive it including their equivalent of boost. They don't create a separate brand for their cheaper products like Telstra do.

              @livingoracle: Last time it was a website. Entered the phone number (and name if I recall), and it get added to the account.

              Did it for all my family I got onto boost, worked great.

        The nation simply needs to socially mingle to obtain this deal again.

        • Wouldn't be surprised as articles about people escaping to Philip Island or NSW before borders closed. You can't keep some people, even with free data.

          -1 from someone who obviously wishes we all go into lock down for free data.

    the extra 25gb has been lifesavers for me. zoom classes are painful

    • Zoom is somehow working with slowed 1.5 Mbps speed

        I am juggling data between 2 mobile accounts using 4g data. the speed isnt ideal. I get laggy video sometimes. but i can make it work.

        • Same here, using Testra $5 one at 1.5 Mbps for typical usage and Belong data bank sim when I need high speed. Domain based Load balancing at router (GL-MT300N-V2)

    Decent move by Telstra, I don't think Optus or Vodafone have done anything like this.

      Amaysim have also given out free data to the people in Melbourne, so Optus shouldn’t be far behind.

    Didn’t work on Boost. New app doesn’t work on Boost. You need to have a Telstra account. Oh well, it’s a good deal for those that can get it.

    whtas the point of only giving you 1 month free, what u gonna do the other 11 month, switching around probably isn't even worth the effort

      I don't think MBB is included unfortunately, correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Has anyone been able to get this on Boost using the updated direct link (form) ?

    • As per above comments, worked last time, I'm not with Boost, but there is no harm in filling out the form.

    • Applied with Boost No. and no luck yet :-(

  • I dont think any Boost Customers have got the extra data this time around. Couldn't see anyone confirming it in the comments on this post.

    New billing cycle started today and got bonus data (non MEL address!!). Telstra has been quite generous.

    • ASAIK Extra Mobile Data has expired, Unlimited Broadband has been extended until 5th Feb 2021 and is automatically applied.
