      It's the scale.

      None of the non-UCS scale Falcons have ever looked right.

      Even the UCS Millennium Falcon is a bit undersized; to build a fairly realistic minifig scale Millennium Falcon with accurate interior spaces, you need at least 10,000 pieces.
