Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work, you can always hit them with it.

I just ordered the 22cm for $169 in Amazon AU
I set the price alert and able to score one once price drop

Usually the low price item only got 1-2 stocks available and price will automatically going back up (over $300)

  • If you visit a Le Creuset store (in person) they'll often price match as well. EDIT: noted the Amazon store is Le Creuset anyhow

What do these do that the Aldi ones don't? Are they worth ten times the price? Genuinely curious…

    • Its a rip off. I bought an Ikea one for $30-$40. Does the job. They're not even practical enough to use every night either.

      • We've had our le crueset for 10 years and is seasoned but like new

Keen to hear how the aldi one holds up

We've probably used ours about 100 times I think

        • I've had the Aldi one for about 7 years, I use it once or twice a month mainly for curries and soups. Works great and still going strong. Only drawback is it's got a plastic knob so can only use it on the cooktop and not in the oven.

@simmo129: I've baked 50+ sourdough breads with the Aldi one at 250C - still going strong - the plastic knob is intact.

            • @LongMemory82: Good to know! I had always assumed it wasn't oven safe. Should have read the box before chucking it

Yeah, we've had ours close to 20 years now and still just as great as ever. Thing is, these things are designed to last generations.

Us 26cm is way too small.
