    What's the cancellation fee?

    • +1

      I believe it’s around $390

      • Is there a way to confirm this?
Any issue with cancelling on same day as purchase?

        • i am interested as well, how does it impact credit ratings

  • I want to get the Oppo Find X2 Pro however still have 3 months to go on my current Optus plan which says my payout cost for my S9 is $150 (bill $75p.m due in 5 days should bring this down to $100). Would it be possible to port a amaysim onto this deal then try and get my optus number onto the new plan? Or would it be best to just pay the $799 and cancellation cost, keep current plan till 24 months is up then look to go on a Sim only plan?

    • Possible Yes after a lot of mucking around.

      They may not do it.

      2 ports involved.

Now Android phones are not price competitive to iPhones. Wait for the iPhone 12 release and see its price effect on other devices.

    • iPhone 12 will be a tiny phone. They are getting more competitive yes, but not actually competitive against current android lineup.

    • see its price effect on other devices

It won't unless apple wants to jack up the next generation

    • Why would I wait for an inferior phone? I am sick of people assuming Android phones are only bought because of budget constraints. Yes, I do have an iPhone but prefer my galaxy.

  • Not required to port a number this time?

  • +2

OP, add "New Customers and Port IN only" in the deal details.

  • Total cost of s10 over 12 months is $1179.

  • +2

Best phone out of the whole lot is Oppo Find X2 Pro. If you are really after Samsung, avoid S20 Series, and better wait for Note 20.

    • +1

Havent really caught up on phones lately, whats the issue with the s20 series?

    • I'd avoid the oppo at that price too though, although barely better value maybe, still not great phone to have over a few years

      • Why do you say that?

        • +2

Previously had Oppo phones, and although they appear great value initially, they rarely ever fix bugs, and updates are always delayed, and sometimes never come. Their software is getting better, but still so many stupid exclusions from stock android that Samsung include. I think the cheaper models seem to be okay, but spending big IMO is a slight risk, and really for $1,579‬, I'd be pretty cautious.

          • +2

@onlinepred: First of all if you subscribe through this deal, its $799 not $1,579. Secondly, been using Oppo Find X2 Pro for almost a month now. Had S20+ before for 3-4 months. Trust me, a hell lot of difference between the two. I have been a Samsung fan and user for years, but honestly speaking, after using Oppo, doesn't want to go back to Samsung. Must faster, smoother and simpler UI, with ultra fast charging, much better battery life and screen compared to S20 series. Only thing I miss is wireless charging only for the sake of not having to plugin, but that is somewhat compensated by blazing fast wired charging of Oppo. Was quite reluctant to make the switch from Samsung to Oppo, but now can't be more happier. Against this is my personal opinion and experience, and others can differ.

            • @OZBsince2018: My s20 ultra work phone is as fast as my Pixel 4 XL. Are you saying that the Oppo is the smoothest and fastest android phone on the market right now? I find that hard to believe. If I wanted a simple UI, I would choose a Pixel phone. The screen is mostly the same, and battery life in both ultra and oppo look to be the same, there will be variations based on how you use your phone though. Anyway, glad you are happy with yours, I couldn't justify spending that much, Oppo are still becoming a serviceable company, they are just focused on pumping out phones left right and centre and not really keeping them up to date or fixing issues, they are of very high quality build these days though.

Also the total cost over 12 months is $1579 thanks mate.

              • +3

@onlinepred: Yes, its currently the fastest and smoothest phone in the market, mainly because of SD vs Exynos on S20s. Screen can be used at 120Hz refresh rate at QHD+ resolution. Plus Oppo with 5G, 12GB RAM and 512GB storage comes out to be cheaper than S20 Ultra if you compare it this way. Was using Pixel 4XL prior to S20+ and now Oppo, and believe me, its smoother and faster than both.
As for price, it comes put cheaper than S20+ 5G even if you compare the total cost over 12 months.
I was of the same opinion as you, until I actually bought and used Oppo. Never going back to Samsung at least.
Again its my opinion based on my experience coming from Samsung S20+ to Oppo Find X2 Pro and I respect everyone's opinion.
Visit JB and have a play with Oppo for 5 minutes to compare. Cheers

@onlinepred: Yes, Chinese brands such as oneplus and oppo flagships are much better than Samsung and Google flagships. Better screen, better CPU, better software.

                • +1

@johnttt: I wouldn't say they are much better, but I can understand where you are coming from. Their hardware is really incredible these days. Hopefully they will improve their slow update schedule, and push out their support period, and then I might consider these expensive phones.

                  • +1

@onlinepred: Tbh, am really referring to Samsung giving us the Exynos instead of Snapdragon. As a Telstra employee who get all Samsung flagships for half price, I was never happy with any of their phones. But been rocking on a Oneplus 7 Pro for the past 12 months, couldn't be happier.

                    • @johnttt: Oh okay, I don't play demanding games so doesn't make a difference to me. I have the S10e (exynos) as my personal phone, along with a bunch of work phones. Couldn't touch OP yet, still not quite comparable to flagships, in terms of features and value. Great if you want a great phone for slightly less as they are just getting more and more expensive. OP at least have a better update schedule than OPPO.

                  • +1

@onlinepred: I had an oppo (r11) They never updated it beyond one major update, but they kept giving it security updates for at least 3 years. That was a nice surprise.

This oppo is very well built though. It feels premium (thanks to stainless steel as opposed to aluminium).

I use dex though, so im gonna skip this generation of phones for now and stick with my s10+

            • @OZBsince2018: How is the Camera on the oppo compare to your s20+?
I am starting to regret buying the s20+ from the last deal.

              • @bargainfinder: I am not much into camera stuff, but I can comment on one point. With S20+ I had to take a photo carefully for it to be perfect i.e. zoom, lighting etc. But with Oppo its just click and snap. And on photo quality, its among the best at present. Overall, Oppo is much stable, snappier and faster compared to S20+.

                • @OZBsince2018: Thank you for your reply.
It seems you are talking about the auto focus issue on S20 camera.
Does the oppo heat up much? My s20+ will go to 45°C after 30" of camera usage

            • @OZBsince2018: Hi, does the 65w charger come with the phone? or is it just an standard 18w charger?

              • @bargainfinder: It comes with the phone.

                • @OZBsince2018: Thanks. Thats great, much better than Samsung, who only give me the 18w charger instead of their 45w super fast charger. BTW have you been able to buy a decent case for your phone?

  • can you still get the $10 port in discount?

    • I don't think its available anymore

  • Why does JB keep doing deals with the S20+ but not the S20? I prefer a smaller phone as I have small hands. Wondering whether to just bite the bullet and upgrade to the S10 from my S8, or wait to see if they do another S20 deal..

  • Probably a silly question - Do you still get the $400 gift card with these deals?

    • +1

No. That is kind of already applied in form of discount on the phone price. Therefore, it may make sense to go for $400 GC deal to buy anything of your choice if you are not after the phone.

  • +1

Not as good as previous GG deal

    • Just beat me to it lol

      • Wow good deal

  • Do we know if these telstra plans are inclusive of 5G coverage? I'm aware as of July 1 telstra plans from telstra are now inclusive of 5G coverage rather than an additional charge.

    • +1

As I know, you have to pay extra $15 to include 5G Coverage in any plan. Not sure if that has changed w.e.f. jULY 1…..!

"Here’s the bottom line: From July 1, in line with the extra data we’ve added, prices will rise by $5 per month on new Small, Medium and Large mobile plans. Our Small plan gains 10GB of extra data for a total of 40GB per month, while Medium and Large plans both add 20GB for a total of 80GB and 120GB a month respectively. Our Extra Large plan will rise by $15, and include 30GB of extra data for a total of 180GB. We’re including 5G access on Medium and above plans as part of this shift."

$65/80GB = medium plan = 5G access… But that's through telstra direct. Looks like I'll suss it out in store.

        • Thanks for the above details. But I guess JBHifi Telstra plans do not include 5G.

  • Updated Telstra Plan:

    https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/sim-only-plans?ti=T…

Not sure if the Telstra/JB plans are also updated or not….!

  • Is there any reason why this is more costly than the S10 from earlier?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/529602

      1. Different phone
      2. Different company
      3. Different data amount
      • It's more or less the same plan structure just with a bump in allowance. TGG is owned by JB Hifi but I'm wondering if the different model is worth the 200$ premium

  • Just a quick confirmation.
Can I replace the SIM card with another on the phone and use that SIM card on another one?

    • +1

Yes, you definitely can. Its not linked to phone.
