I use these solar lights around my house and found that BlitzWolf have released a much better version which has 3 adjustable heads and a total of 128 LEDs. It provides low light at night and when motion is triggered within 8m it'll operate at full brightness for 30 seconds. It's also IP64 rated and heat resistant up to 45 C making it suitable for most of Australia.

  So is it always slightly on at night? And do they actually charge up? Finding a lot of the solar lights stop charging very early on .

  This one is much neater and packs a punch in brightness for such a small unit (about 10cm long). I have 6 of these installed around all sides of my home.

  More LEDs does not mean it's better. It means they use cheap LEDs that has lower lumens therefore requiring more LEDs.

    Yep!

    700lms out of 128 LED's is very poor… but at least the OP's one actually quotes Lumen output.
    Most cheap junk will purposely avoid mentioning Lumen output altogether.

    As a comparison, my single LED Maglite gives 250lms.
    700lms from 128 LED's isn't great at all.

    NOT quoting lumen output is even worse.

  Do you need to get direct sunlight to work or will it still charged as long as there is some light source? Thanks.

    I can't speak for this one in particular, but with all solar panelled stuff it'll charge slightly with some light source. It'll charge a lot better with direct sunlight.

    plugging something into the wall would be a lot faster but for this application it is fine.
